Beulah Mae Armour, a beloved mother, grandmother, friend, mentor and spiritual mother to many, peacefully transitioned at her home in Youngstown, OH on March 15, 2026, at the age of 95. Surrounded by her loving children, Beulah faced her final days with grace and unwavering faith. She was born on July 24, 1931, in Leesburg, Georgia, to the union of Daniel Lockett and Hattie Mae Shadd.

Affectionately known as "Bea Bea," Beulah leaves behind a profound legacy that will forever resonate in the hearts of those she touched. As a source of wisdom and support, she will be greatly missed, particularly by her extensive family. Her life was a blessing, characterized by love, kindness, and an enduring spirit. It has been observed that a life which touches others continues to go on forever. Her memory will be a treasured for generations.

A woman of deep abiding faith, Beulah was an esteemed member of Greater Friendship Baptist Church for over fifty years, honorably serving on both the Levite Usher Board and the Mothers’ Board. She also attended Morning Star Baptist Church, where her late husband, Rev. Sylvester Armour, served on the pastoral leadership team of Rev. Charles Ellis. In her quiet moments, Beulah found solace in the Scriptures, particularly in Psalm 23, which she held dear to her heart.

Professionally, Beulah dedicated over thirty years as a supervisor in the adult rehabilitation department at Goodwill Industries, exemplifying her commitment to serving others with compassion and dignity. Together with her husband, she cherished winters spent as snowbirds in Florida, where they created beautiful memories at their mobile home near the ocean.

Beulah was proud of her southern roots and heritage. She was known for her exceptional culinary skills, especially her legendary peach cobblers, collard greens, and sweet potato pies. As the matriarch of her family, she delighted in bringing everyone together during family dinners, cookouts, and holiday gatherings, fostering love and connection across generations.

In her personal time, Beulah enjoyed nurturing her garden, relishing the tranquility of planting flowers and meticulously landscaping her lawn. She absolutely loved working in her yard where she would spend the entire day outside weather permitting. Her love for shades of brown reflected her warm, humble nature, embodying stability and reliability throughout her life. She also found joy in completing word search puzzles, a testament to her spirited mind.

She leaves to cherish her memory her children: Gloria (Melvin) Burney, Arthur (April) Williams, Linda Williams, Raymond Williams, Darlene Williams, and Brenda Williams, all of Youngstown; as well as twenty grandchildren, thirty-seven great-grandchildren, and thirteen great-great-grandchildren, along with a multitude of family and friends who will forever remember her kindness and love.

As Beulah’s faith became sight, she was reunited in eternity with her beloved husband, parents, and cherished children, including Nathan Williams, Melvin Williams, and Marie Williams, as well as her siblings, Arrie D. Graham, Charles Hubbard; grandchildren Keith, Tina, and Damon.

In honoring Mother Beulah’s remarkable life, we are reminded of the impact she had on our lives and the love that will forever remain in our hearts. A 10:00 AM public viewing will be held on Thursday, March 26, 2026, at Greater Friendship Missionary Baptist Church, 646 Lakewood Ave, Youngstown. The Celebration of Life services will begin at 11:00AM with Pastor James C. Bowie officiating. After a committal ceremony, Mother Beulah will be laid to rest alongside her husband at the Tod Homestead Cemetery.
