Obituary For Diane Teague

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Diane Teague, a beloved mother, devoted grandmother, and cherished sister, who left this world peacefully on February 3, 2025, in her hometown of Youngstown, Ohio. Born to the union of Rebecca Gamble Teague and Oscar Teague Jr., on March 25, 1957, Diane's journey was a tapestry woven with love, resilience, and commitment to uplifting others.

A proud 1975 graduate of the Rayen School, Diane embraced her scholastic experiences with zeal, proudly leading her fellow Tigers as the spirited Head Majorette. Those carefree moments of twirling batons and vibrant performances are fondly etched in the memories of her classmates and community. Faith was integral to Diane and she was a member of the Tabernacle Baptist Church. During her days of youth, she enjoyed participating in the youth choir.

Diane's journey in life was marked by her dedication to uplifting others. Diane was employed at the former Diamondhead Nursing Home, where she shared warmth and compassion in the long-term care facility. With nurturing nature, she left an indelible mark upon persons fortunate enough to know her.

As a habilitation specialist at the Youngstown Developmental Center for two decades, she selflessly devoted her days to helping and empowering individuals acquire the skills they needed for life’s many challenges. Her compassion knew no bounds, and she approached her work with warmth which inspired those around her.

After retirement, Diane felt the desire to serve in another capacity of care and was currently employed with the Youngstown City School District, working in the food service program at Harding Elementary School where the scholars were met with love and kindness.

Diane lived for her family, finding joy in the smiles as they exchanged countless memories filled with laughter and a shared love for the Cleveland Browns football team. Diane cherished her moments spent at local casinos, where the thrill of the game echoed her vibrant spirit. Yet, Diane absolute love was enjoying the countless traveling adventures with her daughter and granddaughter, creating memories that will live on in their hearts forever.

Family was the cornerstone of Diane's existence; she is loved and celebrated by her daughter, Marcella Teague Stubbs of Los Angeles, CA and her granddaughter, Alexandria Kelis Stubbs of Kent, OH. Diane's brother, Eugene (Sandra) Teague, was by her side, sharing laughter and memories that will forever echo in the hearts of all who loved her, along with a cadre of family and friends that were treasured.

As Diane crossed the celestial sands into eternity, she was escorted to the ancestral table and was reunited with her parents along with her brothers Wallace Teague and Oscar Teague III, all who preceded her in death.

A public viewing will be held on Tuesday, February 11, 2025, at 10:00 am, at the Tabernacle Baptist Church, 707 Tabernacle Blvd., where friends and family will gather to celebrate Diane's remarkable life. Following this, a heartfelt Celebration of Life service will commence at 11:00 am, allowing all those who cherished her to come together in remembrance.

After the committal ceremony, Diane will be laid to rest at the Tod Homestead Cemetery. As we reflect on Diane’s life, we remember her laughter, her kindness, and her dedication to lifting others. Though she has departed from this realm, her legacy of compassion and love will continue to inspire all of us. In the words of the poet, "Do not stand at my grave and weep; I am not there. I do not sleep." Diane is and will always be a part of the lives she touched.
