In loving memory of Ernel Alexander Jones, a true hero and friend, whose kind heart and unwavering strength left an indelible mark on all who had the pleasure of knowing him. Born on October 6, 1966, to the union of Tommy Serell & Lula Jones in Detroit, MI, Ernel journeyed through life as a welder, bringing skill and dedication to his craft. He attended the Rayen School in Youngstown.
On May 14, 2025, Ernel departed this world, leaving us with cherished memories and a legacy of love. His laughter and warmth will echo in the hearts of his loving sisters: Sandra Jones, Jewel McMullen, Connie Sims, Pamela Jones-Swanson, and Patricia Ann Early.
His legacy is sustained by his grandchildren Ernel Dwayne Crump II, Lee Twan Lamont Crump, Kelen White, Dalan Crump, Yashicka Caprie “Shicka” Crump, Danaryll “D Man” Wallace Green Jr. and Antwan Lamont Jones Jr. They, along with friends and family, will celebrate his wonderful spirit and the joy he brought into their lives.
As he entered eternity, Ernel is reunited with those who preceded him which includes his parents and his children Ernel Dwayne Crump, Renee Crump, Antwan Lamont Jones, and Kenya Latrice Jones.
Let’s come together to celebrate a life that shone brightly, a life filled with kindness, laughter, and love. Join us for a public viewing on Wednesday May 28, 2025, in the chapel of the J E Washington Funeral Home, 2234 Glenwood Ave, in Youngstown, OH, from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM Noon. Ernel will rest in peace among the meadows of the Tod Homestead Cemetery after a private and solemn committal ceremony.
