Frank Bell Sr. departed this life on Christmas Day, December 25, 2025, at Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio. Born in Youngtown, OH on October 27, 1961, to the union of the late Theodore and Bessie Mae (Woodberry) Bell, Frank's journey through life was filled with grit and grace.
Frank attended Youngstown’s South High School and was respected for his strong work ethic, love for his family, and his ability to bring people together. A hardworking and dedicated man, Frank was employed with Tomahawk Motors and County Auto, where he specialized in auto repair and detailing. After many years of experience, he fulfilled a lifelong dream by opening his own paint and body shop in Youngstown, Amber’s Auto Shop, where he proudly poured his passion into repairing and painting cars.
In his spare time, Frank enjoyed visiting the junkyard, fishing with Tina, playing solitaire while enjoying his favorite cocktail, and spending time surrounded by family and friends. He loved cooking, watching football, and was a devoted Cleveland Browns fan.
Frank leaves to cherish his memory and sustain his legacy the love of his life of 35 years, Tina Colpetro; sons, Frank Bell Jr., Randy Bell, La’Fra Bell, and Mark Colpetro, all of Youngstown, and Pierre Bell of Akron, Ohio; daughters, Tanika Bell of Columbus, Ohio, Lakisha Bell, Amber (Louis) Jones, Yvonne Colpetro, and Summer Colpetro, Ceeairrah VanCobb all of Youngstown.
Frank also leaves one cherished granddaughter, MaKayla Bell of Warren, whom he and Tina reared; a special nephew whom he loved like a son, Robert Bell Jr.; his two beloved fur babies, Meme and Bella; his hardworking coworker and friend, Teddy; 32 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
Frank is also survived by his sisters, Lula Davis, Gloria Bell, Rose Harris, all of Youngstown, and Davida (Rody) Jones of Canton, Ohio; and brother, Theodore (Wynnette) Bell of Las Vegas, Nevada; along with a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.Frank will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him.
In addition to his parents, Frank was preceded in death by his son, Marcus Bell; stepson Trudel VanCobb; siblings, Elmer Bell, Robert Bell, David Bell, Gwendolyn McKee, Mae Foster, Annie Mae Belle, and Hazel Williams; and his best friends, June Woodford Wilson, George LeFlore Sr., Buddy, and Bobby Ezell Sr. Yet, let us gather not just to mourn, but to celebrate the vibrant spirit that Frank was, carrying his memory forward in our hearts.
As Frank's life and legacy are honored, the family invites the community to join them for a heartfelt farewell. A public viewing will be held on Friday, January 9, 2026, from 10:00 AM at the Jaylex Event Center, 2110 Glenwood Avenue, Youngstown. The Celebration of Life service will follow at 11:00 AM, with Elder Eric Foster as the celebrant. Following the committal ceremony, Frank will be laid to upon the serene estates of Belmont Park Cemetery, 3346 Belmont Ave, Liberty Township.
