Obituary For Geneva E. Oliver
NILES- Geneva E. Oliver, a beacon of strength and resilience, will enter eternal rest on March 27, 2026, at her loving home. Born on February 9, 1940, in Greenwood, Mississippi, she was the cherished daughter of the late Baltimore Elzy and Eva (Washington) Elzy. Throughout her life, Geneva exemplified grace, dignity, and an unwavering spirit, dedicating 33 years to the auto fabrication industry at Packard Electric before her well-deserved retirement in 1999.
Geneva will be remembered not just for her contributions as a laborer but for the warmth and love she radiated to all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, daughter, Vanessa Elzy-Eggleston, along with six sisters and two brothers, who now joyfully welcome her among the ancestors.
Geneva leaves behind a loving family that will honor her enduring legacy: her four devoted sons, Anthony Elzy, Andre Elzy, Richard "Ricco" Oliver Jr., and Elder Derrick Oliver; along with her treasured grandchildren and great-grandchildren; her surviving siblings; and a host of extended family and friends who will carry her memory in their hearts.
As we reflect on Geneva's life, we are reminded of the indelible mark she has left on our hearts, and we invite all to join in the celebration of her remarkable journey. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 11, 2026, at the Monument of Faith Church of God in Christ, 904 W. Market St., Warren, where family and friends will gather to celebrate her life. A public viewing will take place at the church starting at 10:00 a.m.
After the committal ceremony, Geneva will find her final resting place at Pineview Memorial Cemetery, 4049 Youngstown Rd SE, Warren, OH.

Mrs. Oliver, I am sorry that you passed away. You had lived a good life which was good and you were called home by the lord. You had strength(translating to ASL: 2 hand S double bounce hand forward), Grace or gracious(2 hand Open B Palms in right hand closer to body. Left side of chest, circle hands around each other while slowly moving them forward), Spirit Ghost(2 hand F right palm down: left palm up, thumbs and index fingers spiral right hand up) You had worked and completed 33 years of service at Delphi Packard Electric which was also with GM. Car ( 1 hand 3) Electric (2 hand X) palms in, knuckles touching. Hit knuckles together twice. Before(2 hand Open B; palms in, back of right hand against left palm. Move right hand toward body) retiring ( 1 hand H 1 hand O palms in, right fingers out of left hand, pull right fingers out of left hand, ending with fingers up) You were a Loving (2 hand S palms in, arms crossed, direction on chest. Slightly squeeze arms to chest) Mother and my regards go to your daughter(1 hand Open A greater than Open B: Passive with thumb on cheek. Brush thumb down cheek change hand to Open B handshape move arm down ending with back of right arm) Sons, Anthony who I havent seen in over 20 years I am sorry you lost your Mother, Sons(Flattened O greater than Open B: Right palm left, left palm up, right hand on forehead left hand in neutral space.
