George C. Williams departed this life on May 13, 2025, at Hospice of the Valley in Poland after succumbing to illness. He was born on June 16, 1937, in Atmore, Alabama. He was the son of Elmore & Mary Joanna Dukes Williams, and the stepson of Annie Lou Williams, all who are deceased.
George retired from General Motors and worked at various companies in Alabama & Florida. He enjoyed watching westerns on television, cutting hair as a barber, traveling, and fellowshipping with family & friends.
George leaves to mourn his passing four children Dorneda Williams, Wanda Williams, Loretta (Keith) Jones, and George J. (Latonia) Williams; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; brother Sterling (Mildred) Seelson of Rio Rancho, New Mexico; a devoted brother-in-law, Robert Boykin; and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
George is now reunited in eternity with his wife, Minnie Louise Williams, along with his brothers, Elmore and Jessie Williams; sister, Bernice Jones; stepsister, Anna Rene Smith; brother-in-law, Ernest Smith; stepbrother, Willie P. Johnson; and sisters-in-law, Carrie Williams and Roe Frances Williams.
The Williams Family is inviting the community to celebrate George’s life during funeral services that will be held on Tuesday, May 20, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel at the J. E. Washington Funeral Services, 2234 Glenwood Avenue in Youngstown, Ohio with Rev. Lewis Macklin officiating. A public viewing will take place one hour prior at 10:00 a.m. allowing everyone to pay their respects to a remarkable man who touched so many lives.
