JaVontae Conner, affectionately known as Papoose, went home to be with the Lord on July 8, 2026. Born October 14, 2024, in Canton, Ohio, to Keira Conner and Mikel Banks. JaVontae’s life, though brief, was filled with potential and infinite promise. He brought joy to those around him and left an indelible mark on the hearts of his loved ones.
JaVontae was a very happy baby and was well-loved by his entire family. Papoose loved it when he hits you and you act as if you were crying, he would laugh and laugh and hit you again, that was his ultimate funny. JaVontae was sometimey, for example, if his mom was around, he would act as if he did not even know you, and cling to her. Truly, he was a momma’s boy. Papoose also enjoyed watching the antics of the animated Bluey series.
JaVontae leaves to honor his life loving parents; grandparents Alfreeda Conner, Jason Bradley, Adrian (Nakeya) Burt Carrie Russel, Michael Banks; great grandparents Monique Conner, Ben-Doretta Bradley.
Precious memories are shared by his uncles Jwaun Burton ll, Adrion Burt, Keem Burt, Jason Bradley Jr, Anthony Brewton, Jermaine Blackmon, Tony Blackmon, Raphel Bradley, Doug Hill, Mark Black, William (Alice) Long Calvin (Brenda) Conner, Ronald (Taryn) Jamal, Lonnie Brown, Gerald Long and Eddie Collier.
Precious moments are retained by his aunts Ladaysha Mitchell, Trayana Matthew, Jaela Bradley, Jherni Bradley, Barbara Conner, Latrice Ballard, Lisa Hall, Patrice Calmese Chudney (Anthony) Gibbons &, Imani Conner, along with a host of cousins, family and friends.
As JaVontae now sleeps in heavenly peace, he was preceded in eternity by his great grandfather, Alfred Hill Sr.; great grandmother Sheila Rippey; uncle JaVontae Conner; great uncles Carlose Conner, Bennie Conner, Trey Hill, Kemp Long and cousin Ziair Mitchell.
In this time of tremendous loss, the family invites everyone who knew and loved JaVontae to join them in celebrating his short but impactful life. As we mourn the loss of this precious child, we find comfort in coming together to honor his memory.
An 11:00 AM public viewing will be held in the chapel of the J. E. Washington Funeral Services, 1617 Third Street NE, in Canton, on Saturday, July 25, 2026. My Precious Child
My Child, you came into my life for such a little while yet filled my heart with love beyond all life’s measures.
I dreamed of all the days ahead the moment we share, but God had other plans for you. He called you home with care. Though your time here was far too short, your impact will last forever.
You may be gone from sight, but never will you be gone from my heart. I will love you forever. You are deeply loved and will be forever missed. My beautiful baby boy.
