With deep love and remembrance, we celebrate the life of Joyce Vanita Callins, who was born on November 22, 1952, in Youngstown, the daughter of Frances and Felton Donald. Joyce departed this earthly life on Saturday, May 2, 2026, surrounded by the love and memories of those who cherished her deeply.
Joyce valued family and friendship, and her presence brought comfort and laughter to those fortunate enough to know her. She will be remembered for her enduring resilience and the love she shared so freely with others.
Joyce leaves to cherish her memory her siblings: Lenzy Donald, Michael (Jackie) Donald, Monique Donald-Harris, and Stella Hodge. She also leaves behind her treasured nieces, Arianna and Brittany, and nephews, Marcus, Brandon, Bryan, Keith, and Jaylon, each who will sustain her enduring legacy of love.
In addition to her family, Joyce leaves many dear and lifelong friends who loved her deeply, including Jan and Gail Wright, Yvonne Clinkscale, Melvin Johnson, Sylvia Rupert, Blonda Poindexter, Renee Robinson, Comece Ross, and Kamyah Ross.
Joyce was preceded in death by her husband, George Callins; son, Andre Lamont Callins; parents, and sister, Tammy Donald. Though Joyce’s earthly journey has ended, her love and memory will remain forever in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
Family and friends will gather to celebrate Joyce’s life on Saturday, May 9, 2026, at Rising Star Baptist Church, 2943 Wardle Avenue, Youngstown, Ohio. Calling hours will be held from 9:00 AM. The funeral services will begin at 10:00 AM with Pastor Kennth Donaldson officiating.
