Obituary For Kenneth Austin Milner

It is with heavy hearts and fond memories that we announce the passing of Kenneth Austin Milner, who left us peacefully on June 19, 2026, at the age of 79. The son of Cornelius Milner and Theresa (Richardson) Milner was born on May 11, 1947, in Columbus, Ohio, Kenneth lived a life dedicated to service and family, leaving an indelible mark on all who knew him.

A proud veteran, Kenneth enlisted in the Air Force on July 23, 1965, and served honorably until January 22, 1969. Following his military service, he joined the 910th Airlift Wing as a Federal Police Officer, where he committed himself to protecting and serving his community.

A graduate of The Ohio State University, Kenneth was a passionate OSU fan who loved cheering for the Buckeyes. He was also an avid follower of the Cleveland Browns and took great joy in engaging in current events via news programs such as CNN. His technology-driven curiosity never waned, as he continued to learn about the latest innovations throughout his life.

Kenneth's love for music was evident in his appreciation for the soulful messages of Luther Vandross, R&B legends Michael Jackson, and the nostalgic sounds of Motown and big band music. He was a man of faith who found solace in reading scriptures and dedicating his life to physical fitness, cycling daily at the YMCA and completing over 1000 spin classes.

Kenneth’s devotion to family was unwavering; he loved driving to Columbus for every family event and cherishing time spent with his loved ones. He is survived by his daughter Angela Majied, brother Timothy Milner, granddaughter Alayna Majied, mother-in-law Betty Calhoun, cousin Linda Colbert, nieces Dee Lunsford and Danesha Lunsford, nephew Matthew Davis, and great-nephew Demas Lunsford, along with his 910th Airlift Wing and YMCA cadres.

As Kenneth crossed the celestial sands into eternity, he joins his beloved parents and sister Penny Brooks who predeceased him.

Kenneth will forever be remembered for his commitment to family, his infectious enthusiasm for life, and his generous spirit. He leaves behind a legacy of love and resilience, and though he may be gone, he will never be forgotten.

On behalf of a grateful national, a memorial service with military honors will take place on Friday, July 17, 2026, at 12:00 PM at the Retreat at Turnberry, 11680 Refugee Road, Pickerington, OH 43147. We will gather to share memories, laughter, and love as we remember a man who was not only a servant to his country but also a loving family member and friend.
