It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of K'Vaughn D. Royal, who left us far too soon on July 23, 2026. Born on February 1, 2006, in Youngstown, OH, KâVaughn was a bright light in our lives, known for his infectious smile and unwavering spirit.
K'Vaughn had a passion for sports, excelling particularly basketball, taekwondo, and flag football. He was also known for his love of the color blue, often seen brightening the day of those around him with his contagious enthusiasm. His canine companion, Peezy, whom he lovingly referred to as his son, mirrored his playful nature and brought him joy.
Beyond his hobbies, K'Vaughn was a caring individual who touched the lives of many. He expressed his creativity through music, sharing his rap songs and often seeking advice on various life topics, which he cherished deeply.
The power of redemption and empowerment shone through in his life, highlighted by the acknowledgments and awards from the Mahoning County Career & Technical Center, where he took advantage of community services to empower and equip himself for success. He also was pursuing his interest in culinary arts.
K'Vaughn is survived by his mother, Jesica Farrier; father, Kevin Royal Sr.; sister, Tra'Dayja Farrier; brother, Kevin Royal Jr.; sister, Ka'laiah Stevenson; nephew, DeJon; nieces, La'Kayah and Aubrielle; and nephew, Keith III. He leaves a large host of family and friends who will be deeply missed yet always loved and embedded in hearts and minds.
K'Vaughn was preceded in death by his grandfathers John Grace, Jr, Kevin Preston; great grandparents John Grace Sr. Verniece Grace, Dean Farrier, Thelma Farrier and aunt Belinda Royal.
In this time of grief, we invite all those whose lives were touched by K'Vaughn to join us in honoring his memory and celebrating his life. His spirit will forever live on in the hearts of those who loved him.
A Celebration of Life services will be held on Saturday, August 8, 2026, at the Jaylex Event Center, 2110 Glenwood Ave, Youngstown. A public viewing will take place from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, followed by the funeral service at 11:00 AM with Pastor Lewis Macklin as the celebrant.
