It is with heavy hearts and fond memories that we announce the passing of LaTania Doreen Phillips, a beloved daughter, sister, mother, and friend. Born on August 30, 1961, in Youngstown, Ohio, to the union of Norman Phillips Sr. and Celestine Terrell-Phillips, LaTania spent her life intertwined with the vibrant threads of her community, where she touched the lives of many with her warmth and gentle spirit.
A proud graduate of East High School, class of 1980, LaTania’s journey led her into the world of the hospitality industry, where she worked diligently as a laborer at Towel Supply. Her commitment to her work exemplified her dedication and strong work ethic, qualities that earned her the respect of peers and friends alike.
LaTania’s faith was a guiding light and her spiritual home was Alpha & Omega First Baptist Church where she actively engaged in the usher and bowling league ministries during her youth and young adult years.
She cherished her family deeply and is survived by her beloved daughter Brianna Phillips, who carries on her legacy, and her brother, Keith (Pamela) Phillips Sr. LaTania also leaves behind fond memories shared with her aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
Upon entering eternity, LaTania was reunited with her parents; brother Norman R. Phillips, Jr.; paternal grandparents, Monroe & Marion Phillips; maternal grandparents, Charles & Jerusha Terrell, who welcomed her with open arms in spirit.
As we reflect on LaTania’s life, we recognize the beauty of her journey—a tapestry woven with love, laughter, and resilience. She will be lovingly remembered for her nurturing spirit, her unwavering faith, and her commitment to lifting others up.
Though LaTania is no longer with us in body, her spirit lives on in the hearts of all who knew her. The Phillps Family invites the community to join them as they remember their beloved LaTania, a shining star whose light will never dim.
In honor of LaTania, a celebration of her life will be held in the future, where friends and family will gather to share memories, laughter, and love. The details of the services will be publicly shared.

Psalm 23- A Psalm of David
The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.
He maketh me to lie down in green pastures:
He leadeth me beside the still waters.
He restoreth my soul:
He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil:
for Thou art with me; Thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies:
Thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life:
And I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.
Am sorry for loss. Keeping you family in my prayers.
Our staff will continue to keep your family in our prayers. We thank you for allowing us to serve your family.
