Lay'Onte D. "Big" Hammonds entered this world with his twin brother Ray'yont "Little" Hammonds on September 28, 2001, in Akon, Ohio to Edward J. Pickett and Patricia A. Hammonds. Lay'Onte departed this life on Sunday May 26, 2024, in Farrell, PA,

A spirited soul, Lay'Onte brought joy to all who crossed his path with his infectious laughter and larger-than-life personality. He graduated from Farrell High School in 2019. Upon graduation he furthered his education at Laurel Technical Institute, graduating in 2021 as a certified welder. Although welder by trade, he found solace in his work at Jersey Mike's.

Lay'Onte was a loving and dedicated son, brother, uncle, and friend. He was the life of the party; always making people laugh no matter what the situation. To his family, Lay'Onte was a beacon of light whose love knew no bounds.

Lay'Onte leaves to cherish his loving parents Patricia Annette (Charles) Hammonds, Edward James (Terressa) Pickett; sisters Robnaisa, Antwanaisa, Purnesha, Royal, Imani; brothers Re' Yon, Re'yonte, DeAndee, Quashawn, Jaylin, Jaquari, Eddie, Quba and EdDartwan and grandfather Robert M. Campbell.

Lay'Onte will also be fondly remembered by his aunts LaTrina, Regina, Brandi, and Shateka; uncles LaDonte, Scott, DeMetrius, Darius, godsons Cartier Sallett and Ja' Monies Young; special cousins Ky' Leiah Young, Latonya Parker, Ramon Smith, Pierra Parker and godsister Floetry Wells.

Lay'Onte was proceeded in death by his sisters Nadia Pickett and Mikayla Pickett, grandparents LeRoy Sr. and Patricia Hammonds, Robert M. Campbell, Cliford and Annette Cooke and Lizzie Mae Pickett, grandmothers Deborah Hammonds and Jaunta Pickett; uncles Lemuel Freeman and Antwon "Truck" Pickett and aunt Damenia Hammonds.

Lay'Onte's life was celebrated Thursday June 6, 2024, at Valley Baptist Church in Sharon PA, and was laid to rest at Oakwood Cemetery, 600 N Oakland Ave, Sharon, PA. Let us remember Lay’Onte not with tears, but with smiles for the joy he brought and the love he shared.

May his spirit soar free, forever weaving its way through the tapestry of our memories, guiding us with his enduring light. Rest in peace, dear Lay'Onte, your memory etched in our hearts till eternity's end.
