In loving memory of Mary K. Bills, a beloved daughter, devoted mother, supportive sister, precious aunt, revered grandmother and great grandmother, we pause to recognize and celebrate her vibrant life and cherished memories. Mary, the daughter of Johnnie Mae Henderson and Henry Scott Sr., was ushered into this world on December 9, 1955, in Warren, OH. Mary's journey on this earth came to a peaceful close on September 4, 2024, at Mercy Healthcare System’s Youngtown campus in the presence of her devoted family.

Mary's passion for nurturing young minds led her to a fulfilling career in childcare contracted by the Mahoning County Jobs and Family Services. Mary graced the lives of many families with her wisdom and compassion. Her dedication to shaping young minds and her unwavering commitment to her work will forever be remembered.

Mary's vibrant spirit shone brightly in all she did, whether showcasing her talent as a seamstress and fashionista or sharing joy while playing games like Squelch and Bingo. Her authenticity and fearlessness in speaking the truth endeared her to all who knew her – for Mary never hesitated to speak her mind, especially when honesty was needed most. Mary was a proud member of the Afro Dogs Motorcycle Club and was known by Tassie. It cannot be stated enough, Mary was a die-hard Cleveland Browns fan!

She is survived by her loving father, Henry Scott Sr of Conroe Texas., her children Kimwuania "Kym’ L. Scott of Houston Texas, Tyhesha M. Scott of Youngstown, Jameca C. Bills of Columbus, Clyde Bills II of Houston and Marko D. Bills of Youngstown. Additionally, Mary helped to rear and nurture Centia Scott of Marietta GA and Darnell Scott, Marcus Scott, Valencia Scott all of Youngstown.

Fondest memories will be sustained by her sisters Karen E. Scott, JaNair L. Fambro, Lena M. Henderson and brothers Henry B. Scott Jr., James F. Scott, Michael E. Scott, Edwin S. Scott, Anthony P. Henderson, David W. Henderson, Chris D. Scott.

Mary was blessed to witness the emergence of two additional generations through the lives of her adoring grandchildren Marsheiona L. Pegues, Rashawn L. Scott, Deontay L. Scott, Johnteasia G. Allen, John M. Allen, Joseph D. Bills, Ieasha R. Scott, Marcedes J. Bills, Cianna N. Smith and Miami J. Bills and great grandchildren Jayshawn Redding, Jakira Davis, Jaysiah Davis, Montrell Pegues, Iyla Scott, Ja Mauri Dennis, Dior Allen, Saleina Scott and Harmoni Scott.

Mary will also be deeply missed by Princess, her cherished canine companion, who accompanied her frequently at public gatherings and private functions. In remembering, let us reflect on the memories we shared, the lessons she imparted, and the love she gave so generously. Mary's work ethic, friendship, loyalty, honor, and respect will forever be cherished by those who were fortunate enough to know her.

As Mary crossed into eternity, she was reunited with the ancestors who predeceased her which includes her mother Johnnie Mae Henderson, her sisters Jeannette (Janet) Pugh and Hazel Scott, brother Jaun D. Scott and her grandparents Willa B. Green, Jeannette Pugh and Harvey Pugh.

Join us as we celebrate Mary's remarkable life at the Jaylex Event Centre, 2110 Glenwood Ave. on Saturday September 14, 2024. A public viewing will be held at 9:00 am, followed by a Celebration of Life Funeral Service at 10:00 am., officiated by Rev. Lewis Macklin, along with Rev. Henry Scott Jr., and Rev. Paulette Christian participating.

There will be a recessional to Tod Homestead Cemetery, marshaled by the Afro Dogs Motorcycle Club, for the committal and burial ceremony. In our hearts, Mary's light will continue to shine, guiding us through the darkness and reminding us of the beauty and strength she brought into our lives.
