Youngstown A homegoing celebration in honor of Mrs. LaRee G. Jackson will be held Monday November 28, 2022 at 11am at Tabernacle Baptist Church in Youngstown, OH. Mrs. LaRee G Jackson, aka "REE" was born February 8, 1928 in Youngstown, Ohio. A daughter of Robert and Annie Mae Grissett. LaRee worked at St Elizabeth Hospital as an LPN. She also worked at Park Vista as an LPN where she later retired after 23 years. LaRee went back to college while working fulltime. She attended YSU and achieved her Bachelor's degree in Social Work. LaRee enjoyed sewing at home and at Bernina. She enjoyed singing in the church choir at Tabernacle Baptist Church. She enjoyed watching basketball, baseball and football. Loved the Cleveland Browns, Cavs and the Indians. She was a member at the YMCA and enjoyed water aerobics. LaRee also attended McGuffey Centre twice a week for exercise, sewing and crafts. On November 20,2022 she received her wings and was called home to be with the Lord from Maplecrest Nursing home in Struthers,Ohio. LaRee was the eldest of 11 children. She is survived by two daughters, Alexis Denise Jackson of Riverdale Ga, and Barbara Elaine Jackson of Boardman,Ohio. Two Granddaughters, Sabrina Elaine Cobbin of Boardman,Ohio and Salina Nicole Jackson of Akron,Ohio. She leaves two sisters, Dorothy Louise Grissett of Youngstown,Ohio and Hazel Jean Steele, of Campbell,Ohio. She leaves four brothers, Lincoln Grissett of Merced California, Lester Grissette of Campbell Ohio, Ernie Grissette of Hartford Connecticut, and Arnold Grissette of Oakland California. She also leaves two sister in laws Claudette Grissette of Pittsburg, California and Yvonne Duncan of Hartford Connecticut and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and dear friends. LaRee was preceeded in death by her parents, her husband William Clarence Jackson, her daughter, Kimberly Lynette Jackson and two bothers. The family will receive friends Monday November 28, 2022 from 10-11am at the church. Interment will be in Tod Homestead Cemetery.
