A homegoing celebration in honor of Ns. Donna Jean Ford will be held on Tuesday, September 28, at 3 p.m. at J.E. Washington Funeral Services, Inc. Jean Ford, 74 passed away on Monday, September 13, 2021, suddenly at her home.
Donna Jean was born on February 27, 1947, in Farrell, PA, she was the daughter of the late Frank Bridges and Helena Hamilton Bridges.
Donna Jean graduated from Farrell Pa. high school.
Donna Jean was the first Black/African-American women who received her license at the Henri’s Hair of School of Design in Fitchburg, Massachusetts in the late 70’s. Donna Jean was a licensed Beautician for over fifty years. Donna worked as a custodian at the Kennedy Christian Catholic School. Donna Jean was a daughter of the Zylphia Temple #66 in Farrell, Pa.
Donna Jean loved people. Most important to Donna Jean was spending time with her son, grandchildren and family and friends; the people she love the very most.
Donna Jean is survived by her son Adrian L. Ford, Jr. of Fitchburg, MA. and her brother Rev. Alan K. Chambers, of Laurel, Maryland (wife Deborah).
Eleven grandchildren; Antonio Brodie, Tayonia Riley, Adrian Ford, Johnathan Ford, Kiera Bester, Isiah Ford, Zatreanna Ford, Unique Williams, Tzuriel Williams, Aviella Williams, Shavtiel Ford. Twelve great grandchildren and host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents and husband, Donna Jean was preceded in death by her son Howard Douglas King, Jr. September 29, 1962. Her sister Joanne Bridges Wright died before her.
So sorry to hear of Ms. Donna Jean passing. Since childhood, I remember she was a great Lampkins family friend. Sending prayers and wishing peace and comfort for the Ford family. Tracy Clopton
