Obituary A homegoing celebration in honor of Shelley Faye (Johnson) Christian will be held on June 7, 2021 at the Jaylex Event Center, 2110 Glenwood Ave Youngstown,Oh. Ms. Christian transitioned from this life to be with her heavenly father while at home surrounded by family on Monday May 24,2021. Shelley was born September 2,1947 to Victoria and Will Johnson in Columbus, Mississippi. She was a graduate of Dunbar High School in 1966. She worked at St Elizabeth’s Hospital as a nursing assistant. Shelley was a follower of Jesus Christ, and always believed in being involved in the local Church. She served on the deacon board, Usher team, and sick and shut in committee, and was an active member of Price Memorial A.M.E Zion Church. Shelley was a great woman whom in many ways we could all aspire to be like. Her family was her pride and joy, and her love for them was unconditional. Always offering support and advice in time of need. She would look for ways to show up and be present in their lives no matter how far away you were. She leaves to mourn in her passing but rejoice in her peace three sons Bryant (Sue) Johnson of Dayton,Ohio. Gregory (Tamika) Johnson of North Port, Florida. Eric (Doasia) Johnson of Youngstown,Ohio. Seventeen grandkids and twenty two great grandkids.Two sisters Pearl Smith and Marie Grant both of Dayton, Ohio, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.She was proceeded in death by Her parents Victoria and Will Johnson, A sister Gertrude, Lorraine Mitchell.Four brothers George,R.C, Warren,Willie and Finus Johnson The family will receive friends 10:00am-11:00 am at the Jaylex Event Center.
