Patricia Ann Pope Haywood of Canton, Ohio passed away on December 24, 2025, following a brief illness. A native of Canton, she was born on November 10, 1953. Patricia was revered as devoted mother, beloved grandmother, supportive sister, and trusted friend.
Patricia accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Lord & Savior, exercising her faith as a member of The Word of God Community Church in Canton. Although she faced health challenges in recent years, her passing has left a deep void in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
Patricia was known for her strong and abiding faith, excellent cooking, resilient strength, sense of humor, and kindness. She found joy in spending time with family and friends, cooking, listening to music, creating photo memories and lots of laughter.
Patricia also had the uncanny ability to keep it one hundred by encouraging other while providing constructive criticism or correction in love. She cherished moments shared with family, listening to God's Word and simply seeing humor in everyday life. Her enduring love and precious memories will continue to live on through her family and the lives she touched.
Patricia worked previously at Aultman Hospital in Canton and at the medical care system of Columbus, Georgia. She retired after many years of working as a hospital employee. She had passion and compassion for serving others. Her empathy touched countless lives and made an indelible impact.
Patricia leaves cherished memories & moments with her three children, Darren Brown, Sr., Laquanda Brown and Melvina Brown. Her legacy is entrusted to her grandchildren, Ebone Patrice Brown Ford, Quincy Geovannie Melvin Brown Ford, Damarko Dewayne Dennard Ford, Darren Brown Jr., Aqua Keyes, Amber Cooper, and Royalty Brown.
Patricia is also lovingly remembered by her brothers Nathaniel (Gloria) Pope Sr. of Massillon and Roger Pope Sr. of Canton; sisters, Sheila Love of Youngstown, Ohio and Sandra (John) Perry, of Canton along with a cadre of nieces, nephews and many dear friends.
As her faith became sight, Patricia was reunited in eternity with her parents, Willie R. Pope Sr. & Clara B. (Banyon) Pope; former husband Melvin Brown; brother, Willie Pope Jr. and two grandchildren, Timothy Lee Crockett Ford, Jr. and LaShay Shanea Crockett Ford.
Services of remembrance to honor and recognize Patricia’s life will be held on Friday, January 2, 2026, at Heritage Reformed Baptist Church, 5715 Market Avenue North, Canton. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. The Celebration of Life Service will begin at 12:00 noon with her pastor, Dr. Lloyd D. Kinlow II officiating.
After the committal ceremony, Patricia will be laid to rest among the serene meadows of the Evergreen Memorial Gardens in Louisville, OH. Patricia will be deeply missed and forever remembered for the love she gave so freely to others.

She was a great person to no n a great person to be loved by. We have had some times over the yrs. N alot of talks n laughs. Ms Pat was a no nonsense woman that meant what she said n said what she meant. Very sweet woman who loved her family tremendously especially her children n grandchildren always worrying about there wellbeing. I'm going to miss out talks n intense conversations some unwanted lol cause when she got on yo butt she didn't hold nothing back love 💕 you guys n I'm here for anything u need n praying for peace n comfort n a lil understanding take your seat on the throne Ms Pat I'll be there one day!!!!!
