Obituary For Phillip Davis, Sr.

Phillip Davis Sr. was born on New Year’s Eve, December 31, 1957, in the heart of Girard, Ohio, the son of the late James Davis Sr. and the late Josephine (Cunningham) Davis where his journey began. It is with heavy hearts that we announce his passing on June 12, 2026, after a life lived with purpose and passion, departing peacefully of natural causes.

Phillip was a proud bricklayer, sculpting not just walls but the very community that embraced him. His hands worked wonders at Davis Construction, where he laid down bricks that served as foundations for countless dreams. A graduate of Girard High School, he fine-tuned his craft at Choffin studying masonry & bricklaying, where he turned the mundane into the majestic, following in his father’s legacy.

He leaves behind a legacy woven with love, including his beloved son, Phillip J. Davis Jr.; siblings James Davis Jr., William Davis and Josephine Thomas. The joy of his granddaughters, Paris and Karis Davis, will echo in the hearts of those who knew him best. Phillip leaves a host of family and friends of a man who always found joy in every moment.

The family has elected to host a private and intimate service to honor and reflection upon Phillip’s life. Phillip’s journey may have come to a close, but his spirit lives on in the walls he built, in the hearts he touched, and in the laughter of those who loved him.
