Sun City, Arizona- It is with heavy hearts, the family of Prentiss C. Logan Sr., age 71, must announce that on Tuesday, February 20, 2024, he obtained his ultimate healing at his home in Sun City, Arizona. Prentiss was born on March 22, 1952, in Youngstown, Ohio, he was the cherished son of the late Reverend Codie and Luvenia (Stevens) Logan.
Prentiss found joy in his family and education, attending Youngstown City Schools and graduating from Rogers High School in Toledo, Ohio in 1970. On January 9, 1971, he married his former wife, Rose (Bodrick) Logan, and together they were blessed with seven children.
Prentiss leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion in his children: Kelly (Damon) Beacham, Faith Logan of Youngstown, Ohio; Jada (Camara) Whipple, Prentiss (Tynesha) Logan of Surprise, Arizona; P. Leslie Logan of Columbus, Ohio; and David Logan of Atlanta, Georgia.
He is also survived by his adored grandchildren: Patrick, Aaron, Jordan, Andre, Khristopher, Marcus, Te'John, Kierra, Dominique, DeJa, Amarra, Makayla, and Arayyah, as well as his great-grandchildren Jeremiah and Artemis.
Prentiss will be deeply missed by his special friend Carrie Messina, along with a multitude of nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Prentiss was preceded in death by his son, Patrick Logan: brothers, Napoleon Logan and Rev. Leonard Mayo; and sisters, Thelma Fitzgerald, Violet Smith, Elaine Levels, and Melvine Kaiserauer.
A public visitation will be held on Saturday, March 2, 2024, at 9 a.m., followed by a Celebration of Life Services at 10 a.m., to be officiated by Rev. Dr. Lewis W. Macklin II, in the Chapel of the J.E. Washington Funeral Services located at 2234 Glenwood Avenue, Youngstown, Ohio. Prentiss will be laid to rest at Belmont Park Cemetery, 3346 Belmont Ave., Youngstown, OH. May his memory be a blessing to all who knew and loved him.
