Raylette Monice Davenport, a beloved daughter, sister, mother, and friend, transitioned into eternity on March 1, 2024, at St. Elizabeth Health Center in the embrace of her loved ones. She entered the world on July 29, 1993, in Youngstown, Ohio, to the union of Raymond Vernon and Vernette Davenport. During her short-lived tenure among us, she leaves a lasting legacy of love and light which will forever illuminate the hearts of those who knew her.
Raylette was a woman of immense talent and drive, a graduate of the Academy for Urban Scholars, she was preparing to matriculate from the Los Angeles School of Film. She never allowed herself to be defined or confined by life’s challenges or circumstances. She fully embraced and immersed herself within every opportunity, emerging effortlessly with a great sense of accomplishment.
She excelled in the entertainment industry and served as the Executive Producer of Three Peas in a Pod Podcast. Her dedication and passion for her work shone brightly, making a lasting impact on all who encountered her creative spirit and genius. Her entrepreneurial skills extended themselves into the hospitality industry as well. She had a catering enterprise consisting of V’s Sweet Treats & More and Raylette Catering Company.
In addition to her professional achievements, Raylette was a devoted mother to her precious son, Khiry Pierce Jr., whom she adored beyond measure. Her warmth and generosity extended far beyond her family, as evident from the joy she brought to various social gatherings and game nights she hosted for her loved ones.
Raylette was surrounded by the love of her family, including her sister Dontasja Harris, brother John Bell Jr, sister-in-law Makaila Hodge-Harris, father Raymond Vernon, and cousin Neek Davis. Her enduring legacy will also be sustained by her paternal grandmother Lonell Logan of Georgia, Khiry Pierce Sr whom she shared the love and bond of a son together, an aunt Blondie Davenport and uncles John Davenport, Lenny Davenport and Jerell Vernon, her adoring godchildren Ka'Leise & Kaceyon Hill, along with a cadre of cousins, extended family members and precious friends. Raylette’s passing leaves an unspeakable void in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her vibrant spirit.
Raylette joins her place among the ancestors and was greeted upon her arrival at Heaven’s gates by her beloved mother Vernette Davenport and maternal grandparents Rogia Davenport and Vernon Cash.
As we come together to bid farewell to Raylette, let us remember her laughter, her kindness, her resiliency, and the impact she made on all of our lives. Raylette Monice Davenport, may you sleep in heavenly peace.
