Rev. Geraldine Deborah Williams of Sharon, Pennsylvania, went home to the Lord as she entered the Church Triumphant on January 5, 2025, after a long illness. Rev. Williams, affectionately known as Geri, was born on February 29,1936 to Joseph and Effie Broussard in Buffalo, New York.
Graduating from McKinley High School in 1952 in her hometown of Buffalo, NY, she would later earn her Business degree from New York University. In 1953, Geraldine met and married Charles Hoxie in Buffalo, NY. Charles and Geri went on to have 3 children, Kirk, Gary and Christopher.
After years in a successful career as a Bank Officer in New York City and Cleveland, OH, Geri followed her calling and began her journey in serving the Lord in the work of ministry. The majority of her spiritual gifts were shared in her role as pastor, shepherding the saints of Ruth African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church and the surrounding community in Sharon, PA. During this time, she rendered dedicated service to the entire Shenango Valley as the chaplain at Sharon Regional Hospital for twelve years.
Rev. Williams was a vibrant and dynamic woman that will be remembered, among other things, for her fervent love of God. She loved spending time with friends, sharing a great meal and having great conversation with those she loved.
She is survived by her two sons, Kirk Martin Hoxie and his wife Pamela Dodson, and Gary Micheal Hoxie and his wife Natasha Evans Hoxie. She entrusts her legacy to her five grandchildren Kirk Jr., Christopher, Brianna, Alexis, Noah, 11 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.
As her faith became sight, Geri was reunited with her beloved parents, first husband, Charles Hoxie, son Christopher, brother Robert Broussard, all who preceded her into eternity.
A celebration of her life memorial service will be held at her church home, Ruth African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church, 95 w. Connelly Blvd, Sharon on March 1, 2025, at 11;00 am with Pastor Marion Wheeler presiding as the celebrant.
At this most intimate time, the beloved family of Rev. Geraldine Deborah Williams elected to entrust the Ministry of Comfort & Care and Professional After Care Arrangements with J. E. Washington Funeral Services, 1059 Hamilton Ave, Farrell PA, 16121 Phone (724) 983-1523
