Obituary For Tab Duranda Lee, Sr.

In loving memory of Tab D. Lee Sr., it is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. Tab's time with us has ended, but his memory will live on in the hearts of all those who knew and loved him.

Tab entered this world as the fourth son of Joe Lee Jr. and Jonnie T. (Hooks) Lee on November 24, 1956. He was a 1975 graduate of Farrell High School and enlisted in the United States Army serving with honor until his discharge in 1980.

Returning to the community, Tab became employed at Penn Power. While walking around the neighborhood he met the love of his life, Bessie M. Seltzer. The two were united in holy matrimony in 1981, and through their union they were blessed with two sons Tab D. Lee Jr. and Joel (Nadia) Lee. Tab and Bessie relocated their family to Maryland. Tab used his entrepreneurship skills to initiate and launch multiple start up enterprises.

His venture in retail created Tabessies Clothing Store which became a cherished part of his legacy and commitment. The trademark for helping others was reflected in the store’s operations, reflecting kindness and compassion within the community. He also relocated his Thorough Cleaning Company from the Farrell area providing employment opportunities for family and friends. His last entrepreneurial endeavor was Thorough Home Inspections where he worked until his 2022 retirement.

During his lifetime, Tab consistently demonstrated his commitment to those around him. He was always ready to lend a listening ear, offer a helping hand, and open his home to family and friends in need of a fresh start. His joyful spirit brought light to every gathering, and his presence was a source of inspiration, reminding us of the importance of compassion and community.

Precious moments will be embraced by his wife Bessie, son Joel (Nadia), Lee, Maryland, daughters, Tramaine Burns of Dallas, Texas and Sherice Brothers of New Castle, PA, while enduring memories will be retained by his sister, Michele D. (Lee) Jordan of Farrell, PA.

Tab’s legacy of compassion, integrity, and strength will be sustained by his ten grandchildren, D'Monte, Ronnie, Khanni, Tanay, Braelin, Ameah, Zoe, Soraya Tab and Tyrell and four great grandchildren Quran, Kalanie, Khaie and Harmoni, along with a host of nieces and nephews.

Tab now takes his seat among the ancestors and is among the great cloud of witnesses. Welcoming him at the gates of Heaven upon his arrival were his parents, son Tab D Lee Jr., sister Jenny Lee, brothers, Bobby Lee, Larry Lee Sr. and Bunny R. (Billy) Lee.

As we gather to celebrate the remarkable life of Tab Duranda Lee, we will remember him not just for the years he lived, but for the love he shared and the countless memories he created with us all. He will be deeply missed but forever cherished in our hearts.

In his remembrance, a public viewing will take place at the Second Baptist Church, North Walnut Street, Sharpsville, PA, on Friday October 17, 2025, from 5:00-7:00 PM. Family and friends are invited to pay their respects and celebrate the joyful moments shared with him. The funeral rites will be held the following day, Saturday, October 18, 2025, at 10:00 AM, also at the Second Baptist Church, where Pastor Kelvin L. Jordan oversee the celebration of life services to honor Tab.

After the military honors and committal ceremony Tab will be laid to rest among the venerated family elders in the serene meadows of Morefield Cemetery. His journey may have reached its end, but the love he shared and the lessons he imparted will continue to illuminate our lives.

At this time of intimate need and personal loss, the family of Tab D. Lee Sr elected to entrust the Ministry of Comfort & Care, along with Transitional After-Care Arrangements to the J. E. Washington Funeral Services, 1059 Hamilton Ave, Farrell, PA 724.983.1523
