Pittsburgh- Terrance Lamont Murphy 54 of Pittsburgh Pennsylvania transitioned peacefully on March 31, 2026, at the Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh PA surrounded by his loving family. Terrance was born July 14, 1971, in Youngstown to Lucius Phillips Mealer and Vickie Lynn Murphy.
Terrance worked tirelessly as a laborer in the glassware production industry at Stoelzle Glass USA in Mona Pennsylvania. He was deeply loved and admired, known for his humor, cool demeanor, and laid-back spirit. He always maintained a clean and well-groomed appearance. Terrance cherished spending quality time with his family and friends, engaging in activities such as shopping, singing, traveling, and sharing jokes. His compassionate nature and caring heart made him a true protector and nurturer to those around him.
Terrance leaves behind his cherished memories, his loving children daughters, Tee-Airrah, Teeone, & Taliyah Murphy. sons, Terrance Jr., & Taron Murphy from Pittsburgh, PA. mother Vickie Lynn Murphy and stepfather David Dent. He also lives cherished memories with his siblings Daron Murphy, Glaudis Lawrence, Robin Lawrence and LaRita Lawrence.
His legacy will continue through his grandchildren Ty’zier Murphy, Bellaire Poindexter, and Armoni Suber, godchildren, Dakota Smith-Brandon and Dash Brandon, all from Pittsburgh, PA and great aunt Mrs. Betty Jones of Youngstown, Ohio.
Terrance is preceded in death by his beloved daughter Telayshia Brown, father, Glaudis Lawrence; brothers Keith Lawrence Sr.; and Antwan Lawrence Sr.; grandfathers, Glaudis Lawrence; and William Murphy; grandmothers, Dorothy Murphy, Irene Campbell, & Evelyn Dent; uncles Mitchell Murphy, Marty Murphy and Herbert Davis; aunts Victoria Murphy, LaDonna Murphy Whatley and Josephine Kennedy. The Murphy family, though heartbroken, finds solace in the memories that they created together and the love that will forever remain in their hearts.
Terrance Lamont Murphy Sr. will forever be remembered for his loving spirit, laughter, and the joy he brought to those fortunate enough to know him. As we reflect on the beautiful life of Terrance, the family invites the community to join in honoring his memory. A public viewing will be held on Saturday, April 18, 2026, at 10:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 PM, both at the Jaylex Event Center, 2110 Glenwood Ave. Rev. Raymond Austin of Columbus will officiate the ceremony, celebrating Terrance’s life and the profound impact he made on everyone he met.
The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude for the outpouring of love, prayers, and support during this difficult time. Your kindness, comforting words, and thoughtful gestures have brought strength and peace to their hearts, and they are deeply appreciative of each and every one of you who stand with them in their time of bereavement.
