Theresa's legacy is one of authenticity and strength, a reflection of the truth she lived by. She will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege to know her, and her memory will forever be etched in our hearts. A graduate of New Castle High School, Theresa was a reserved and private person whose tough exterior was softened by a boundless tenderness for those she held dear. Her sage counsel was often undergirded with stern truth and stark realities for those who sought her wisdom.

Theresa embraced her role as a homemaker. She welcomed her family with open arms, providing unconditional love and support. Hospitality flowed from her heart, and her home was often filled with laughter and the aromas of her delicious cooking, making it a sanctuary for family gatherings and shared memories. For Theresa, offering her home was a love language, one that spoke volumes about the compassion she carried within her.

Theresa’s memory will be lovingly sustained by her daughter Angela Hammond, brothers John Hammond and Raymond Hammond, along with her six grandchildren all of New Castle.

As Theresa crossed the celestial sands, she was reunited among the ancestors which include her mother Annie Hammond, father Dan Hammond, son Kenneth Hammond and siblings Rita Ware, Jimmie Hammond, Willie Lee Stewart and Alfred "Judge" Stewart, all who preceded her into eternity.

In this time of reflection, let us remember Theresa not just for the quiet strength she embodied, but also for the profound love she shared with those around her. May her spirit continue to shine brightly in our lives and may we carry forward her legacy of hospitality and kinship.

To honor Theresa’s life, there will be held in a public viewing held in the chapel of the J. E. Washington Funeral Home, 2234 Glenwood Ave. in Youngstown on Saturday June 14, 2025, from 10:00 AM until 12:00 Noon.
