As time is filled with swift transition, we said farewell to Tierney Nicole Mitchell, a bright light born on May 29, 1988, in the heart of Youngstown, Ohio. Tierney embraced life with a spirit as vibrant as her laugh and warmth that made every room feel like home. Her laughter, creativity, and love for life will always be remembered with fondness.
Tierney was a radiant soul whose genuine love and creativity touched everyone around her. She had a passionate love for family gatherings, fishing trips, and spending time outdoors. Her passion for cooking - especially her famous seafood boils - brought people together and filled hearts as much as stomachs.
A natural creator, Tierney found joy in making TikTok videos, gardening her favorite tomatoes and peppers, and expressing herself through music and dance. She had an engaging personality that could light up any room and a fearless spirit that inspired others to try new things and embrace life's adventures. She embraced every opportunity with determination and grace which inspired those around her to dream bigger.
Tierney had an affinity for red and black color schemes, which symbolized her bold and passionate nature. However, above all, her greatest joy was being a mother as her daughter was truly her heartbeat and the center of her world.
Although Tierney entered eternity on October 2, 2025, her spirit remains alive in the hearts of all who knew her, ensuring Tierney will yet live on in their hearts in the echoes of her laughter and the warmth of her kindness.
As Tierney crossed the celestial's sands which transcend time and space, she was reunited with her mother Delores Mitchell, son Derek Bennett, grandmother Veronica Jennings and nephew Justin Underwood, each who preceded her in death.
Tierney leaves behind a legacy that reflects kindness and resilience which will continue to inspire others. She leaves behind a loving tapestry of family, including her father Raymond Jennings; brother, Tyrone Jennings; sisters Tina Underwood, Denise Mitchell, Tanisha Jennings, Tiffany Jennings, Tierea Jennings, Amber Jennings, and Renee Jennings, along with her treasured daughter, Ava Robinson. Each of their lives has been enriched by her presence, and her legacy will continue through them, woven into the very fabric of their stories.
Precious memories will linger with Tierneyβs special friend Dymenicca and treasured moments retained by her nieces and nephew, Joseph, Braneisha, Tramaine, Zanise, Javon. She will also be remembered by eighteen great-nieces and nephews, along with a score of family and friends whom she loved unconditionally.
We celebrate a life well-lived, a spirit unbroken, and a love that will never fade. A public viewing & calling hour will be held at Elizabeth Missionary Baptist Church, 1210 Himrod Avenue, on Wednesday October 15, 2025, at 10:00 AM. The Celebration of Life Services will follow at 11:00 AM. Tierney Nicole Mitchell will forever reside in our souls, reminding us to cherish every moment and uphold the beauty of connection.
At this time of intimate need and personal loss, the family of Tierney Nicole Mitchell elected to entrust the Ministry of Comfort & Care, along with Transitional After-Care Arrangements to the J. E. Washington Funeral Services, 2234 Glenwood Avenue, Youngstown, Ohio, 330.782.8500.
