Tony Manuel Garcia, a cherished soul known for his warmth and laughter, was gently called to his eternal rest on January 28, 2025, at Mercy Health Medical Center in Youngstown. Born on January 18, 1962, in Washington, DC, Tony was the beloved son of James and Sally Clark Garcia. His journey through life was one filled with resilience, joy, and an unwavering faith that inspired everyone fortunate enough to know him.
A proud graduate of South High School, Tony's spirit for learning led him to Harding Business College, where he pursued his passion for business management. But it was his love for family and friends that truly defined him. In a beautiful twist of fate, Tony found his soulmate in Lacquetta Denise Williams, and they were united in love on August 5, 1999. Their twenty-two years together were marked by laughter, support, and shared dreams until her passing on October 31, 2021, leaving a void that he carried with grace.
Tony was known as an avid chess player and a loyal Steelers fan, often surrounded by friends, laughter, and the sounds of a game. He had a poetic soul, expressing his thoughts and feelings through verses that resonated with the heart. Whether riding around town or engaging in deep conversations, his joyful praise— “Hallelujah!”—would echo in the air, bringing smiles to faces young and old. His favorite anthem, “What a Mighty God We Serve,” was a testament to his faith, a melody that brought comfort and unity to those who gathered around him.
In his passing, we remember not just the struggles he faced, but the vibrant spirit that shone brightly through it all. Tony’s ability to remain optimistic was a gift he freely shared, reminding us, “I’m doing fine thanks to my Lord and Savior.” His heart, rich with compassion and understanding, left an indelible mark on those who had the privilege of crossing his path.
Tony will be deeply missed by all those who knew and loved him. His memory will be embraced by his bonus children Lanesha (Damion) Thomas, with whom he made his home, Gene Williams and Lakela Williams.
Precious moments shared with his siblings Carmen Garcia, Carlos (Charlene) Garcia, along with his sisters-in love, Caffie Williams, Cathy Howell, and Dollie McKibbens; and brothers in love, Tyrone Williams, Arthur Glenn (Patricia) Williams will never be forgotten.
Tony’s legacy will be advanced by his bonus grandchildren in love that he loved immensely - Kee, Layzhia, Ke'Shaydeea, Key-l'sha, Genice, Simmone, Samon'Drae, Kierre', Immanuel and Imani, as well as his nine great-grandchildren and an abundance of nieces, nephews, other close relatives and friends.
As he passed into eternity, Tony was reunited with by his parents, wife & soul mate Lacquetta Garcia, grandparents Rev. William A. & Essie M. Clark, and aunt Mattie Patterson, all who preceded him in death.
In our hearts, he will forever remain—a brilliant light, a steadfast friend, and a cherished repository of love. Friends and family will gather to celebrate Tony’s life with a memorial service. A celebration of life in honor of Tony will be held on Saturday, February 8, 2025, at 1:00 pm at New Beginnings Outreach Ministries 2007 S. Schenley Ave. in Youngstown, with Pastor Kevin Carson officiant. As we bid farewell to this gentle spirit, we carry forward the lessons he imparted and the love he so freely gave.
At this time of intimate need and personal loss, the beloved family Tony Manuel Garcia elected to entrust the Ministry of Comfort & Care, along with Transitional After-Care Arrangements to the J. E. Washington Funeral Services, 2234 Glenwood Ave., Youngstown OH 330.782.8500.
