It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Tyrel Silas Askerneese, a cherished son, loving father/grandfather, and trusted friend. Born on October 29, 1978 in Sharon, Pennsylvania, the son of Martin L. Taylor Sr. and Lola Pearl Askerneese, Tyrel filled the world with his warmth and laughter until his untimely departure on August 7, 2025.
Raised in a family steeped in love and resilience, Tyrel spent his early years in Farrell, PA. He attended Farrell High School before earning his GED in Greenville and later pursued an associate’s degree in business management. His most recent endeavor was to conquer the open roads as a truck driver, proudly holding a CDL license as a testament to his ambitious spirit.
Tyrel was a man who wore many hats, seamlessly flowing from a loving father to a loyal brother, and a friend to all who crossed his path. His kindness radiated in every interaction, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of those blessed enough to know him. His appreciation for shades of green symbolizes his appreciation for life, growth, and prosperity for others he encountered.
Tyrel had the gift of turning mundane moments into epic memories. A masterful storyteller, he delighted in his ability to narrate experiences, bringing life and laughter to gatherings with his animated tales, always with a twinkle in his eye. A creative soul with a deep love for music, he skillfully expressed himself through his distinctive voice, while his passion for basketball showcased his competitive spirit and love for the game.
Family meant everything to Tyrel. He showered his children—Tamai Hill, Ramell Askerneese, Amia Lucious, Ramyah Askerneese, Anthony Simoni, and Rielle Askerneese—with love, creating cherished memories through gatherings and outings that will last a lifetime.
A special part of Tyrel’s memory will remain vibrant with his soul mate & companion Chantel Nevels, mother, L. Pearl, and father Martin (Crystal), along with his siblings—Anthony (Cynthia) Askerneese, Camille Askerneese, Tamika Dowdy, Sarah Curry, Da'trice Shephard, Martin Taylor Jr., and Christopher Curry—he was a pillar of love, unwavering in his support and affection. His legacy will endure through his adorning grandson Davonte, loving godmother Angela Brown and a score of extended family and friends.
Tryel was preceded in eternity by his brother Carmen Askerneese and his maternal grandparents Silas & Bertha Askerneese.
In these moments of grief, we find solace knowing that Tyrel’s vibrant energy and infectious laughter will forever echo in the hearts of those who loved him dearly. A memorial service to celebrate Tyrel’s life will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday August 15, 2025, at the Cedar Avenue Church of God, 1045 Cedar Ave in Sharon PA, where Associate Pastor Michelle Askerneese will preside and Lead Pastor Charles Johnson will deliver the eulogy.
At this time of intimate need and personal loss, the family of Tyrel Silas Askerneese elected to entrust the Ministry of Comfort & Care, along with Transitional After-Care Arrangements to the J. E. Washington Funeral Services, 1059 Hamilton Ave, Farrell, PA 724.983.1523
