In loving memory of Tyrell Elliot Hodge Sr., a cherished son, brother, father, and friend who touched the hearts of many. Tyrell, born in Youngstown, OH, on August 6, 1997, illuminated this world with his contagious zest for life. Tragically taken from us on May 4, 2024, Tyrell's vibrant spirit and warm presence will be greatly missed.
Having graduated from East High School, Tyrell furthered his education at the New Castle School of Trades, obtaining his association degree after studying landscaping and horticulture as his chosen career pathway. He took great pride in using the elements of nature to create artistic renderings on the properties of those he served. Professionally, he was an operator & demolition specialist for SVC Property Solutions.
Tyrell excelled in all he pursued. Whether on the football field, indulging in his passions for fishing and dancing, or losing himself in the world of being a comedian among family and friends, Tyrell's enthusiasm was infectious. A proud and avid supporter of the Dallas Cowboys, Tyrell truly knew how to rally for his team.
Known for his compassionate demeanor, Tyrell always put others before himself, spreading joy wherever he went. He found solace in enjoying life's pleasures, often with a glass of Bombay rum in hand, and his children held the key to his heart.
Tyrell’s legacy will be embraced by his, beloved mother Deshawn Bryan, loving companion, Destiny Richardson, sisters Charmonique North and Makaila Hodge, sons Kayden Hodge and Tyrell Hodge Jr., daughters Willoh Blu McVay and soon-to-arrive Ta'riah Hodge, grandmother Carlin North and grandfather Derek North Sr.
Tyrell will always be remembered with love by his uncle Derek North Jr., aunts Amica Byran, Tasha Carter, Tionia Byran, and Jenell North, Shawna Tarver and Raquel Curtis, along with a score of additional family and friends which is too massive to be included.
Tyrell was preceded in death by his father, Gerald Hodge.
Join us in celebrating Tyrell's remarkable life, public viewing and family visitation will be held in the chapel of the J. E. Washington Funeral Home, 2234 Glenwood Ave, in Youngstown on Thursday May 23, 2024, from 1:00-4:00 pm. Let us honor Tyrell's legacy and the light he brought into our lives. May his laughter and love echo through our memories for eternity.
