Obituary For Willette "Honey" Hosey

Willette Hosey, known to many as Honey, received her ultimate healing and peacefully transitioned from labor to reward on Saturday, February 7, 2026. Born on January 4, 1950, in Baltimore, Maryland, she was the treasured daughter of Willie Mae Drummond Harris and Andgre W. Pearson. Although she was born in Baltimore, Maryland, her life and legacy were firmly rooted in Farrell, Pennsylvania, where she was respected as the pillar of her family and community icon.

A proud 1970 graduate of Farrell Area High School, Willette carried herself with determination, warmth, and a vibrant spirit that would define her life. She was blessed with three beautiful children — Elonda, Samuel, and Matthew — who became the heartbeat of her world.

Willette wore many titles throughout her life, but each one she wore with dignity and excellence. She was a devoted homemaker - mastering the art of nurturing a home filled with love and order. Her professional journey included working as a barmaid and cook at Tizios (later R&R Lounge), serving as a food service worker for Farrell Area High School, and ultimately retiring as the supervisor of custodial services for Farrell Area High School. In every role, she demonstrated integrity, leadership, and pride in her work.

Honey’s commitment to community service was extraordinary. She was an active participant and supporter of numerous local organizations including the Farrell Fan Bus, Travelers Club, Atlantic Club, M.F.S.B. (Mothers, Fathers, Sisters, Brothers), Victory Council, Daughter of Zylphia Temple #66 I.B.P.O.E., Twin City Elks Lodge #187, Ladies Auxiliary of the former New Murray Bell VFW Post 7597, and the Resident Council of the Mercer County Housing Authority. Her presence was known, respected, and valued.

Willette’s foundation was her faith in God. She loved the Lord and served faithfully within the Nurses Guild Ministry throughout the community, embodying compassion, service, and Christian love. Her walk with God was not just spoken - it was lived.

Willette embraced life fully. She found joy in cooking meals that gathered family around the table, sewing with care, shopping with excitement, and traveling with enthusiasm. She was the life of every gathering — dancing freely, laughing loudly, and creating memories that will echo for generations. She loved attending sporting events and cheering with pride. Known affectionately for her “MacGyver” spirit, she would attempt to fix anything — and often did. Her quick wit and unforgettable sayings became trademarks of her personality.

Yet, above all accomplishments and activities, her greatest treasure was her family. She loved fiercely, sacrificially, and without limits. She leaves to cherish her remarkable legacy: Her loving mother, Willie Mae Drummond Harris of Sharon, PA. Her devoted children: Elonda L. Hosey of Farrell, PA Samuel L. Hosey Jr. (Patricia) of Sharon, PA Matthew E. Hosey (Nikole) of Loganville, GA Her beloved bonus daughter, Cassandra Coleman of Jacksonville, FL.

Her pride and joy — her grandchildren: Ny’Tara Hosey, Lashonda S. Hosey, Samuel L. Hosey III, Ny’Lan T. Hosey, Alijah Hosey, Amara Hosey, Ava E. Hosey, Evan M. Hosey, Niko M. Hosey, Santo Bolden, and Silas Bolden. Her treasured great-grandchildren: Brielle Shepherd, Norah Shepherd, Naden Hosey, Sophia Hosey, Kylo Hosey, Ne’Vyn Hosey, Santana Bolden, and Spring Bolden.

She also leaves behind her loving siblings: Patricia Pierce, Melvin Locke Sr., Clifford Locke Jr., and Rochelle Locke; her cherished godchildren: Leila Joseph, Jesse “JJ” Wilson, Melissa Crosby-Jackson, Andre Ganzy, and Percy “Phephus” Coleman; along with a host of extended family members, church family, and dear friends whose lives she touched deeply.

As Willette entered eternal glory, she was reunited with her beloved father; her maternal grandparents Matthew and Ruth Drummond; Jimmy Harris, and godson, Jonathan Ganzy. Though she now rests from her labor, her legacy will continue to bloom in every life she nurtured. “Well done, good and faithful servant.”

“Willette” was more than a name — she was a presence. Strength embraced in grace, laughter enfolded in love, and faith swathed in action, Honey’s life was a testimony of resilience, devotion, and joy.

All who wish to pay their respects are welcome to join in celebrating the remarkable life of Willette Hosey. The family will gather to honor Willette’s life during a public viewing at Valley Baptist Church, 500 Sharon-New Castle Rd in Farrell on Saturday, February 21, 2026, from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM, followed by a funeral service commencing at 10:00 AM, with Pastor T. James Harrison, officiating.

After the committal ceremony, Willette will be laid to rest at Morefield Cemetery where she will find eternal peace. In this time of reflection and remembrance, let us celebrate a well-lived life, filled with love for family, community, and the countless lives she touched through her gentle spirit and unwavering dedication.

At this time of intimate need and personal loss, the family of Willette “Honey” Hosey elected to entrust the Ministry of Comfort & Care, along with Transitional After-Care Arrangements to the J. E. Washington Funeral Services, 1059 Hamilton Ave, Farrell, PA 724.983.1523
