Obituary For William Allen Motton Jr.

William Allen Motton Jr. peacefully departed this world on May 9, 2025, at Mercy Health Medical Center’s Youngstown campus. Born on September 26, 1964, in Farrell, Pennsylvania, he was the beloved son of William Motton Sr. and Joanne Page-Monroe. With natural grace, William navigated life’s challenges, treating each day as a gift.

William was a 1983 graduate of Youngstown’s East High School. He was a man of service and served in the United States Navy which reflected his sense of duty to his country and humanity. He moved through life with the same determination he displayed while navigating the high seas. As a line packer at Extrudex Aluminum, William spent his days shaping the future of aluminum manufacturing, until his health declined.

William leaves behind a tapestry of love woven through his children- Andrew Motton, Wendall Motton, Stacy Zents, William Motton III, Paris Blankenship, and Noni Motton, each carrying forward his wisdom, humor, and kindness.

William is also survived by his siblings, Eric Monroe, Vonda Motton, and Edith Motton, along with his brother-in-law Doug Jones. His legacy will radiate through his eleven grandchildren and a assembly of relatives and friends who loved him dearly.

As William entered eternity, he was reunited with his parents and siblings Phillp Motton and Sandra Motton-Jones. In his final act of love, William selflessly chose to give life to others even after his passing. His legacy is not solely in his vocational pursuits but also in his selfless decision to be an organ and tissue donor, allowing his spirit to continue living on through others, a true testament to his generous soul.

In celebration of William's life, the family invites the community to gather in the chapel of the J E Washington Funeral Home, 2234 Glenwood Ave in Youngstown on Friday May 23, 2025, at 10:00 am for public viewing. We will honor his legacy with a Celebration of Life service at 11:00 am where Rev. Lewis Macklin will serve as the officiant.

After our time of remembrance and committal ceremony, William will rest in the serene meadows of Morefield Cemetery in Hermitage PA. As we say goodbye to a cherished soul, let us carry forward the lessons he displayed as a gentle giant who made the world brighter and better.

can really pass away.

And think of him as living
in the hearts of those he touched…
for nothing loved is ever lost
and he was loved so much.
