I just noticed Heads birthday....4Aug57.........same as mine, put a big smile on my face........Steve Tyler
I met Head in the late 70's on the softball field.I can honestly say I've never seen him without a smile on his face.He carried himself as a man with high moral values and character seldom shown in my eyes. He will be dearly missed by all lucky enough to encounter him....Steve Tyler
I met Head when I first moved to Mansfield in 1986. He asked if I played softball, and the rest is History. From being a good friend, teammate, Basketball supporter, card player you could always count on Head bringing the good time. He will be missed and loved. To the family, may God keep you close. Prayers to the family to ease the pain of losing a good guy. With love, Coach Ernie Red Watson
I also met Head through softball but stayed friends with him long after our playing days. He always had a joke or a memory about a mutual friend, and we shared many laughs through the years. He is one of the few people that I know who had zero enemies. He will be missed. Kip Terrell
I first met Ivory in the 6th grade at Pelican High School & he had that great smile on his face from day one! Ivory was easy to become friends with which made for a fun friendship for the rest of my school days. Ivory was kindhearted, dependable and so funny! What more can I say, but that I consider him one of the best friends I've ever had. Because of that, although I've only seen him a couple times since we graduated together, just knowing he's gone, gone before his time, makes me miss him. Ivory was a fine friend so I know he became a fine teacher, husband, father and friend to many more people who were lucky enough to have known him and have him in their lives. Sincerest wishes of sympathy to all of you. May God continue to bless & keep Ivory in his care. Emily Rambin
I'm so sorry for your loss, Pat! Ivory was such a good person. The world just lost a special soul, but Heaven gained one. Please know that you have a lot of people praying for you and the kids. Gail Sallis
Ivory Head Hooper was one of the good guys, somebody who knew you and greeted you with a smile wherever and whenever he saw you. Softball was a mutual passion, and he was a great player. He was a greater person though. He has earned his eternal reward; I will be praying that grief soon will be replaced with comfort in knowing his earthly aches and pains are nonexistent and he is resplendent in his heavenly attire.
Had several wonderful memories with "Hoop" playing softball for years and school activities. He was a wonderful friend and man. I will miss him. Tommy Craig
Played a lot of ball with and against Head. He became a close friend and visited my office many times where we recalled memories. He was a great friend, customer, father and leader of young men as a teacher in DeSoto and Cool Springs. The public sometimes doesn't get to see the contributions to a town or parish of a man like Ivory bu I saw it for forty years. I'll miss you old friend! William Dorroh
Prayers to the Hooper Family. You guys have been thru so much. Keep trusting God. He is there for you. "Head" has been a friend for many years...way back. Such a great guy. Always smiling whenever you saw him, with something good to say, to make you laugh. He will surely be missed. Much Love, Be Blessed. Pamela Carter Maul MHS Class of '76
Our sincere condolences to the Hooper family members. The Randle family will continue to pray for comfort and strength during your time of grief. Stay strong Pat.......love always, Virginia Randle
A long time friend from 1st grade to College. He was like a brother, you could talk to him about anything. My sincere condolence to the family. He will be missed. Carroll Jean Booker Johnson, Pelican High Class of 1975Bg
