Obituary For Clement Norvan Crawford

(July 21, 1954--August 6, 2026)

TYLER--Clement Norvan Crawford, a beloved son, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend was born on July 21, 1954 in Tyler, Texas to Willie Crawford Jr. and Winnie Ruth Crawford (Dorsey). Clement was the fourth child in the family and was raised in Tyler, where he spent most of his life. He briefly lived in California before returning home to Tyler, the place he always considered home.

Clement attended John Tyler High School and, after graduation, proudly served in the United States Marine Corps. Following his military service, he built a hardworking life as a heavy-duty equipment operator and farmer. He took great pride in working with his hands and providing for those he loved.

As a child, Clement attended Hopewell Valley Baptist Church, where his faith and early church experiences became part of the foundation of his life.

Clement was a man who deeply loved and protected his family. He was known for being very protective of those he cared about and for standing by his loved ones whenever they needed him. He had a special love for farming, particularly growing fruits and vegetables. He also adored his beloved dog, Junior, who brought him great companionship and joy.

Clement was previously married to Theresa Crawford of Tyler. Together they had a son, Gabriel Crawford, and later divorced. He subsequently married Ethelean Crawford of Tyler. Ethelean preceded him in death on December 24, 2008. No children were born of their union.

Clement leaves to cherish his memory his son, Gabriel Crawford, and daughter-in-law, Erica Crawford. Through Gabriel and Erica, he was blessed with four grandchildren: Bravion Crawford, Kyra Crawford, Logan Crawford, and Kali Crawford. His grandchildren held a special place in his heart and will carry his memory forward for generations to come.

His brothers and sisters include Jimmy Ray Dorsey;Bobbie Kay Emanuel (Crawford) who resided in Palestine, Texas; Cathy Hooper (Crawford); Walter James Crawford; Robert Crawford; Robert Pace (Crawford) and Victor Dale Crawford. His extended family also includes his aunts and uncles Rita Lewis (Dorsey), Ruby Curry (Dorsey), Margaret “Honey” Johnigan (Dorsey), Richard Dorsey and Rodney Dorsey, along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.

Clement departed this life on August 6, 2026, in Tyler, Texas. Though his earthly journey has come to an end, the love he gave, the family he protected, the land he cultivated, and the memories he created will remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

He will be remembered as a hardworking man, a devoted family member, a proud farmer, and a loving grandfather whose presence made a lasting difference in the lives of those around him.

Services will be held at Hopewell Valley Baptist Church in Tyler, Texas on Saturday, August 29, 2026 and burial will be at Dallas--Fort Worth National Cemetery in Dallas, Texas.
