TYLER---Funeral services for Dorothy Woods, 84, of Tyler, Texas are scheduled for 11 am on Saturday, March 28, 2026 at Liberty Baptist Church with Dr. Mark Hood, eulogist. Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Park under direction of John R. Harmon Undertaking Company.
Mrs.Woods was born June 20, 1941 in Overton, Texas to the late Leon and Gladys McDuffie Butler and she transitioned on March 19, 2026.
She was a graduate of Arp High School and member of Liberty Baptist Church. Mrs. Woods was preceded in death by her spouse, one grandson, five brothers and two sisters.
She is survived by sons: Jason Woods and Kevin Woods (Audra), daughters: Doris Lee (Ronald), Gladys Scott (Billy) and Karen Woods (Tony), sister: Annette Ford (David), brother Jimmy Butler and Robert Butler, and a host of grand, great and great great grandchildren.
Public viewing will be Friday from 2 pm to 8 pm at the funeral home.

Mrs. Woods, you was like a 2nd mother to me. You helped raised me and a lot of the children in the neighborhood. I even remembered when I had came by and cried on your shoulder.
