Obituary For Edna Pettie

(May 3, 1945----October 31, 2026)

LARUE--Funeral services for Edna Pettie known to many as “PeeWee”, 81, of Larue are scheduled for 11 a.m., Saturday, November 7, 2026 at Union Station A.M.E. Church in Larue with Rev. Jackie Ross-Ray eulogist. Burial will be in Bethel Cemetery under the direction of John R Harmon Undertaking Company.

Ms. Pettie was born, May 3, 1945 in Henderson County to the late Allen and Eliza Williams Currington. She transitioned on October 31, 2026.

Ms. Pettie was a graduate of Central High School in Larue, worked at Curtis Mathis and served as mother of the church. She was an usher and member of the kitchen committee.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her spouse, Melvin Earl Pettie; son: Tony Currington; siblings: George Currington, Lefus Currington, Albert Currington, Romie Warren, Alice Cumby, Lucille Hasley and Latice Currington.

Ms. Pettie is survived by daughter, Melba Pettie of Dallas; son: Kerry Pettie of Tyler and sister: Georgia Spencer of Larue. Public viewing will be Friday, November 6, 2026 from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. a the funeral home.
