Obituary For George Knight

( March 9, 1946 — April 29, 2025)

TYLER--- Funeral services for Mr. George Knight, 79, are scheduled for 1 p.m., Saturday, May 10, 2025 at New Jerusalem Baptist Church with Pastor Lawrence Brown eulogist.

Burial will be in New Canaan Cemetery Whitehouse under the direction of John R. Harmon Undertaking Company.

Mr. Knight was born on March 9, 1946 in Smith County to both the late Dave Knight and Christine Langley Knight and he transitioned on April 29, 2025 at his residence in Tyler, Texas.

He was a graduate of Emmett J. Scott High School. He was a former employee of Foleys Department Store. Mr. Knight was a former member of Bethel Temple COGIC where he served as choir direction and was presently a member of New Jerusalem Baptist Church. He served in the United States Army.

Mr. Knight was preceded in death by his brother: Chester Knight and sister: Ora Lee Knight.

He is survived by his brother: Joe Knight of Tyler; step sister: Katherine Jones of Tyler, Texas, aunt: Dorothy Langley of Whitehouse, and his bonus Jackson Family.

Public viewing will be Friday, May 9, 2025, from 2 pm to 8 pm at the funeral home.
