VAN--Funeral services for Mr. Harold Friend, 81, is scheduled for 11 a.m., Saturday, August 10, 2024 at Clear Springs Baptist Church with Pastor Tony Adkins, officiating and Pastor Keith Friend, eulogist, under direction of John R. Harmon Undertaking Company.
Mr. Friend was born on June 24, 1943 in Van Zandt County to the late Religh Clyde Friend and Ethelene Bowman and he transitioned on July 29, 2024.
He attended Prairie Creek Schools was a life resident of Van Zandt County and member of Clear Springs Baptist Church.
Mr. Friend was a retired truck driver. Along with his parents preceding him in death, one sister: Betty Friend, one brother: Freddy Friend and one great-grand daughter: Sophia Black preceded him in death.
Mr. Friend is survived by spouse: Vanessa Friend of Tyler, son: William Friend (Mary) of Tyler, Anthony Friend (Clotel) of Lindale, Michael Friend (Shari) of Van; daughters: Drumita Arps(Donnie) of Tyler. Rachell Littlejohn (Jessup) of Tyler, Tameko Friend of Huntsville, Alabama, Rena Crawford of Mesquite brother: David Friend (Josephine) of Tyler. Sister LaQuita White of Tyler and a host of grand, great, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Public viewing will be 4 pm to 8 pm on Friday at the funeral home.
