Obituary For Kevin Banks

ARLINGTON--Celebration of Life for Mr. Kevin Banks, 61, of Arlington, Texas, formerly of Tyler, Texas is scheduled for 11 am, Saturday, September 26, 2026 at Smith Temple COGIC with Bishop David R. Houston, eulogist. Burial will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery under direction of John R. Harmon Undertaking Company.

Mr. Banks was born January 22, 1965 in Smith County to both the last Percy Banks Jr. and Ruby Sanders Banks and he transitioned September 16, 2026 at his house in Arlington, Texas.

He was a graduated of Robert E Lee High School and later attended Tyler Jr. College. Mr. Banks was a resident of Tarrant County for over twenty plus years, manager at Walmart and member of Smith Temple COGIC where he served as a drummer and choir member.

Kevin is survived by spouse: Kenya Darden; daughter: Tamelia Hicks; son: Mohamed Kanu all of Arlington, Texas; sister: Julia Banks-Chattam (Curtis) of Cedar Hill; brothers: Percy Banks III and LaDelwyn Banks (Laquita) all of Tyler, Texas; three grandchildren and one grandchild.

Public viewing will be Friday, September 25 from 2 pm to 8 pm at the funeral home.
