Larry Wheeler was born February 1, 1957, to Aubrey Wheeler and Emma Mumphrey-Wheeler in Tyler, Texas. He passed into glory on April 17, 2025. He was a life-long resident of Tyler. He was a graduate of Chapel Hill High School - Class of 1975. He served in the United States military – Division: Army.
Larry joined Mt. Zion C.M.E. at an early age. He had a passion for repairing cars.
Larry is preceded in death by parents Aubrey Wheeler, Emma Mumphrey-Wheeler and sister Betty “Bet” Wheeler.
He leaves to cherish his memory; his daughter Tiffany Hampton-Thompson (Reginald), three grandsons, De’Jon Thompson (Emily), Da’Vion Thompson, Dayvion Scott of Tyler, TX; two granddaughters, Da’Jah Thompson, Deveren Thompson of Tyler, TX; two sisters, Lena Wheeler, Madine Chester (Reco); three nephews, Shaquille Wheeler (Monica), Bryan Wheeler, Dewartha Scott Jr, and three nieces, Natosha Attaway (Brent), Kortney Ross (Lindsey), Lanicka Scott; and host of uncles,. Aunts, cousins and other relatives and many friends.
