Obituary For Michael Frater

(November 5, 1960---June 26, 2025)

TYLER---Funeral services for Mr. Michael Frater, 64, of Tyler, will be held at 3:30 pm, Saturday, July 5, 2025 at John R Harmon Chapel with Pastor Marcus Jackson, Sr, eulogist.

Mr. Frater was born November 5, 1960 in Henderson County to both the late Charlie Hendricks and Hattie Mae Frater and he transitioned on June 26, 2025 in Smith County. He was a graduate of John Tyler High School, member of Macedonia Baptist Church in Chandler and a former automotive worker.

Mr. Frater is preceded in death by late Charlie Hendricks and Hattie Mae Frater and five siblings.

He is survived by sons: Brandon Frater Sr. (Shana) of Killeen, Texas, Bryan Frater of Longview, Texas; daughter: Latoyia Frater of Longview, Texas; life partner: Shelia McClain of Tyler; sisters:Sharlett Brooks (Preston) of Tyler, Janet Frater of LaMarque, Texas, Pamela Frater of Tyler, Sandra Frater Mackey (Dennis) of Whitehouse, Texas, Wanda Hendricks of Tyler; brothers: Jimmie Frater (Myra), Lonnie Frater, Larry Hendricks, Elder Ervin Hendricks (Ruthalene) all of Tyler, Texas, Rickey Hendricks (Wanda) of Athens, twelve grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews, relatives and friends.

Public viewing will be Friday, July 4, 2025 from 2 pm to 8 pm at the funeral home.
