Obituary For Ruth Jewel Pettigrew Crumpton

TYLER--Services for Ruth Jewel Pettigrew Crumpton will be held on Saturday, October 31, 2026 at 1 p.m. at Antioch Baptist Church in Whitehouse, Texas. Interment will follow at the Antioch Cemetery Whitehouse under the direction on John R. Harmon Undertaking Company.

Ruth Jewel Pettigrew Crumpton also known as Ruby Hawkins was born on February 15, 1948 to Ellab Pettigrew and Eugene Ervin in Tyler, Texas. She lived and grew up in the Antioch Community where she attended Whitehouse ISD and graduated from Stanton High School with the Class of 1966. She worked as a head cook at Luby's Cafeteria for many years, furniture world and Stratford House Inns, where she retired after 20 plus years.

Ruth was called home on October 26, 2026 and was preceded in death by one daughter, her parents, husband and grandmother.

She leaves to cherish her precious memories: one son: La'Marcus Pettigrew; one daughter: Sara Pettigrew-Seaton (Stevie); one grandson : Sir Anthony Mosley (Shakemi); four great grandchildren: Keziah Mosley, Sir Anthony Mosley Jr, Sriyia Mosley and Jkaydin Mosley; two sisters: Willie Pettigrew (Peete) and Darlene Davis (Dexter); five brothers: Louis Pettigrew (Sheila), Nathaniel Hawkins, Donell Hawkins (Christina), Ray Hawkins (Sharon) Emmitt Hawkins (Paula); a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Public viewing will be on Friday, October 30, 2026 from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m at the funeral home.
