LONGVIEW---Funeral services for Shirley Long, 74, are scheduled for 2 pm, Saturday, May 9, 2026 at Breckenridge Village Chapel, 15062 Pleasant Retreat Road, Tyler, Texas 75704. Apostle Develron Walker will serve as eulogist. Burial will be in Antioch Cemetery/Whitehouse under the direction of John R Harmon Undertaking Company.
Ms. Long was born November 7, 1951 in Smith County to the late Henry Williams and Margaret Caldwell Walker. She transitioned on May 2, 2026.
Ms. Long attended TISD, was a homemaker and member of Berry's Temple COGIC. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by spouse: Bobbie Long, sons: Rodney Dewayne Moore, Kevin Moore, Lester Moore, brothers: Alfred Walker, Henry Walker, Gary Walker and granddaughter: Lakeisha Moore.
Ms. Long is survived by son: Larry Moore Sr. of San Antonio, daughter: Doretha Taylor, sister: Bonita Galloway, Margaret Battles, Sheryl Moore (Dennis), Loria McKenzie (Stanley) all of Tyler and Barbara McCoy of Lubbock, brothers: Cassmer Walker, Lee Walker (Camille), Elder Bobby Walker Sr. (Argie) all of Tyler and Norman Walker (Winter) of Longview, seventeen grandchildren and twenty-five great grandchildren with whom she shared a special bond.
Public viewing will be Friday, May 8th from 2 pm to 8 pm at the funeral home.
