Obituary For Vernon Lee Jones
(April 4, 1948---December 5, 2024)
TYLER--Funeral services for Mr. Vernon Jones, 76, are scheduled for 1 pm, Friday, December 13, 2024 at People's Baptist Church with Pastor Marcus Jackson, eulogist. Burial will be in North Athens Cemetery under direction of John R. Harmon Undertaking Company.
Mr. Jones was born on April 4, 1948 in Athens, Texas to both the late Washington Jones and Evie Foggle and he transitioned on December 5, 2024.
Mr. Jones was a graduate of Fisher High School in Athens, Texas and received his Business Management Degree from Tyler Junior College.
Mr. Jones was a foreman and retired from Trane Industry.
He was a member of Peoples Baptist Church where he served as deacon, choir member and served on the TV video ministry. Mr. Jones served in the United States Army.
He was preceded in death by one great-grandchild and two siblings.
He is survived by sons: Christopher Jones (Vicki ) of Whitehouse,Texas, Vernon D Jones (Andrea) of Lancaster, Texas; daughter: Aaliyah Jones of Tyler; brother: Washington Wright of Grand Prairie, sister: Bessie Burks of Tyler, five grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Public viewing will be Thursday from 2 pm to 8 pm at the funeral home.

I never knew how to read or write or do math problems. You were always there to help me. You were always by my side and I thank you for everything you did for me. Rest well. 🕊
