Earlene Jackson- Davis

My time with her was very short. She was the relative that I recently met but she was a beautiful soul. So sorry we had such little time together. I will cherish the memory of the time we spent together.

Mrs. Davis is my friend and and mentor. I choose not to write in past tense. If we follow her path , we will become loving and kind to others humans. Her laughter is contagious! Get your rest, my forever friend. Gloria Ware-Carter

Resolution of Respect In Loving Memory of Earlene Jackson-Davis

WHEREAS, God has seen fit to call home his loyal servant Earlene Jackson-Davis, it is befitting to express our sympathy to the family and friends during this time of bereavement. You have our sincere prayers.

WHEREAS, I am one of the countless children, to whom Earlene Jackson-Davis, committed a life of diligent and excellent service, I honor her memory. Words cannot express the gratitude that I have for her commitment to me as my first-grade teacher at McEvans School in Shaw, MS.

WHEREAS, Earlene Jackson-Davis practiced outstanding pedagogy in my first-grade classroom and so many other classrooms over the years, and that foundational learning has reverberated with power and clarity throughout my educational and work life, she is remembered with both a heavy heart and a shout of celebration and appreciation.

WHEREAS, the foundation laid by Earlene Jackson Davis, took me from McEvans School, in Shaw, MS, all the way to Stanford University in Palo Alto, CA, and to a life that I could not have imagined as a six-year-old, decades ago, her legacy lives on in my life and the lives of countless others.

BE IT RESOLVED, that though hearts are heavy during this time, there is also cause for great celebration in recognition of the life that Earlene Jackson-Davis lived, so that so many others could have the best chance to live out their purpose and dreams.

The best teacher of all time! LOVE flowed from her every time that I saw her. She always had such a warm welcome and bright smile that made everyone feel special. Such a phenomenal woman who will always be remembered.

Mrs. Davis was not only my church member years ago, but I can remember her being a great Educator. She had the most beautiful heart. You got nothing but smiles from her. She will truly be missed. I am praying for the entire Davis Family. My deepest condolences.

Mrs. Earlene Davis will be missed by the entire Shaw community and the Shaw School District. She will forever be remembered for hosting the annual "May Day" programs. She loved all students. She was one of the best teachers who walked the corridors of the McEvans School. My love and sympathy for the family. RIP my friend. Eleanor Scott

I was so sorry to hear that Mrs Davis is no longer with us. She touched so many children in the Shaw Community doing her teaching career in the Shaw school system. God bless her soul. 🙏
