Obituary For Tony V. Moore

Tony Vincent Moore
Sunrise: June 20th 1958
Sunset: December 15th 2025
Tony Vincent Moore was born in Mound Bayou MS to the union of Thomas Henry Moore and Seanella Lilly Mae Moore. They both preceded him in death. He was a graduate of John F. Kennedy high school. Shortly after graduation he joined the United States Army. His duty stations included Ft. Bragg, NC, FT Belvoir, VA, Ansbach, Germany, FT Bliss, Texas, and FT Richardson, AK.
His distinguished army career culminated in him achieving the rank of Sergeant First Class. His time in service was spent as a mechanical engineer for helicopters. His final post FT Richardson Alaska he would make his home, after being honorably discharged from the United States Army. His quest for independence and self-sufficiency was realized when he purchased a beautiful homestead in Sutton Alaska. As a single man he built his home, became enamored of the culture and the people. His homestead was filled with the bustling activities of farm animals and the delight of children. He often shared his love of gardening, cooking, fixing anything mechanical, or electrical. His entrepreneurial spirit led to his opening the first smoke shop in Anchorage (Jeremy’sPlace). His greatest joy was his children. As a father he raised three girls with his longtime companion Native Josephine Immamak on his homestead in Alaska. With his son Jeremy he shared a love of working on cars.
His ability to cook, garden and fix anything is legendary. The GentleGiant with an easy smile and calm spirit enveloped a brilliant Mind that allowed him to “DO IT His Way”. Tony’s last five years were spent getting reacquainted with his birthplace, spending winter months in Mound Bayou Mississippi. After receiving a diagnosis of cancer/multiple myeloma he insisted on returning to Mississippi to receive treatment and continue working towards revitalizing our family legacy. With great determination and his service Dog (Hockey) assistedby his devoted daughter (Angel Immamak-Moore) in early November he embarked on what would be his final journey to Mississippi. His struggle with cancer came to an end at Bolivar Medical Center, Cleveland MS. The family wish to extend sincere gratitude to medical staff, caregivers, friends and family members who supported Tony during his illness.
Though he has transitioned from this life, his Spirit lives on in the lives he touched. He leaves us with a Legacy of Perseverance, determination, service, success, and above all else Love.
