Obituary For Thomas Alvin Peek

Thomas Alvin Peek, known as Tommy to all who knew him, passed on Thursday, November 25, 2021, the morning of his seventy-sixth birthday, Tommy Peek was a veteran of the United States Marine Corp, having served from 1967 to 1971. During this time, he spent 13 months in the Vietnam War. He worked for the General Motors Corporation for 30 years, retiring in 1994. Tommy Peek will be remembered for his love for his family and his ability to gain friends wherever he went. He had a knack for telling humorous stories and making people feel like they had known him forever. He was generous with his time, always willing to help anyone in need of it. Some of his favorite places were in a deer stand or on the river fishing. Paw Paw, as his grandchildren referred to him, showed great pride in their accomplishments. You could hear it in his voice when he spoke about them and their talents. His grandson, Eric, played football and followed in his paw paw's steps by joining the military. Grandsons, Davis and Max are accomplished in lacrosse and football. His three granddaughters demonstrated many talents as well. Emily is a gifted softball player, Sarah shows her talents in singing and musicianship, and Carson is demonstrating growing talent in lacrosse. Thomas Peek was preceded in death by his father, Joseph David Peek, Sr.; his mother, Jeanette Peek; his younger brother Larry Peek; his grandson, Jacob Hajjar Peek. He is survived by the love of his life, for 37 years, Linda Peek; one brother, Joseph David Peek, Jr.; three sons Kevin Peek (wife Amy Peek), Tim Peek (wife Leslie Peek) and Brian Peek; two daughters Wendy Roberts (husband John Roberts) and Christy Chandler (husband Brad Chandler); six grandchildren, Eric Chandler, Davis Peek, Emily Chandler, Max Peek, Sarah Peek and Carson Peek. A memorial, for close friends and family, to honor and celebrate the life of Thomas Peek will be held on December 4th at 2:00 PM at their home. If you plan to attend, we request you bring a chair, as seating will be limited. In lieu of flowers, the Peek family requests that donations be made, in the memory of Thomas Peek, to the Auburn Georgia Police Foundation at 1361 4th Ave., Auburn, Georgia 30011.
