Obituary For Curtis Watson

Curtis Watson, 87, of Sarasota, FL passed away on March 27, 2026. Visitation will be from 6:00pm-8;00pm on Fri., April 10, 2026 at Greater Hurst Chapel AME Church. Services will be held 11:00am at Greater Hurst Chapel AME Church. Funeral arrangements by Jones Funeral Home.

The joy of children, grandchildren and great grandchildren: Ruth and Boot were the parents of five children: Yvette Rhoden (Jackie), Curtis, Jr. ( ), Dexter Lennell, Angela, and Tyrone( Sandra). Grandchildren: Amanda Underwood, Dexter, Jr., Dennis, Adam, and Eric Watson. The family continued to grow as nine great grands were added: Pharoah, Dexter III, Adam, Jr., Dennis, Jr., Delilah, Jada, and Macara.

As his wife, children, and grands mourn his passing, other family members are saddened as this life cycle comes to a close: Brothers Jerome Hughes, Willie Watson, Jr. and Hebert Watson. Sisters Annie Lois Mays, Willie Mae Battie, and Queenie Moore, Rosemary (Moses) Johnson Sisters-in-law Clementine Speights (Johnny) and Annie Gholar and a multitude of nieces, nephews, cousins, and faithful friends.
