A TIME TO BE BORN Mother Elease Smith was born on February 5, 1946, in Delray Beach, Florida to her late parents Mr. and Mrs. Robert L. Smith, Sr.
A TIME TO GROW
Elease, was educated in Boston, Georgia and attended North Boston High School. She later relocated to Sarasota, Florida, in 1966.
A TIME TO SERVE
Mother Elease was a devoted member of Shiloh Primitive Baptist Church in Sarasota, Florida.
She played a foundational role in establishing the Gospel Chorus of Sarasota and was a proud member of Choir #1 and Choir #3. Her dedication to the church spanned more than 50 years, serving faithfully wherever she was needed.
A TIME TO MOURN
She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, one brother, two children, and her husband,
Robert L. Smith, Sr.
She leaves to cherish her memory: Her loving children, Son, Robert L. Smith, Jr.(Chappell) and Daughter; Reshaunda L. Smith-Turner (Kevin).
Step Daughters: Cheryl Robinson and Alice Cockrell. Nephew; Roy Wilson, Five Grandchildren: Nichol Brown, Mink Smith, Marco Smith, Kayden Turner, Ava Turner. and two Great-grandchildren: Three special friends: Alfreda Davis, Ann Williams, and Betty McKenzie, and Special Cousin: Willie Mae Givens, and a host of family and friends.
Visitation will be held 6:00pm-8:00pm on Fri., July 11, 2025 at Jones Funeral Home. Services will be held 1:00pm on Sat., July 12, 2025 at Greater Hurst Chapel A.M.E. Church. Burial will be held at Ham City Cemetery in Brooks County, Georgia. Funeral arrangements by Jones Funeral Home.
