Obituary For Gloria Ann Bryant

Gloria Ann Bryant

August 15, 1940 – October 8, 2026

On August 15, 1940, in Bradenton, Florida, a beautiful life began with the birth of Gloria Ann Bryant, born to the late Richard Bryant and Lula Mae Wilson. Throughout her 86 years of life, Gloria exemplified strength, dedication, faith, and an unwavering love for her family.

Gloria was a hardworking and devoted woman who believed in giving her very best in everything she did. She dedicated over 30 years of faithful service to Pines of Sarasota, where she began her career in housekeeping and, through her commitment, leadership, and strong work ethic, advanced to the position of Director of Environmental Services. She also devoted several years of service to the Sarasota School Board, continuing her legacy of hard work and dedication.

Above all, Gloria was a woman of faith, family, and love. As a longtime and faithful member of New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church, she served the Lord with a devoted heart. Her love for God was not simply something she spoke about, but something she shared with her children, grandchildren, and all those blessed to know her. She understood the importance of building a foundation rooted in faith, and she lovingly passed those values down through generations.

Gloria’s life was a beautiful reflection of perseverance, strength, and devotion. Her presence was a blessing, her love was a gift, and the memories she created will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

Left to cherish her precious memories and carry on her legacy of love are her devoted children, son, Leo Gilbert Jr., and daughter, Cecelia Gilbert; nine beloved grandchildren, Leo Gilbert III (Irish), Norral Jones, Lorrenzo Gilbert (Auyanna), Javares Gilbert, Ciera Gilbert, Amber Gilbert, Carrisa Meeks, Jazsmeen Gomez (Andrew), and Joshua Gilbert; eight cherished great-grandchildren, Xyeila Gilbert, Kanise Gilbert, Asaunti Gilbert, Nariyah Jones, Lorrenzo Gilbert Jr., Leo Gilbert, Ta’niya Gilbert, and Ari-auna Gilbert; her dear cousin, Lillian Hood; along with a host of other loving relatives, extended family members, church family, and treasured friends.

Although Gloria’s earthly journey has come to an end, her family finds comfort in knowing that her life was filled with purpose, her work was meaningful, and her love will never be forgotten.

Her work on earth is complete, but her legacy will live on forever.

Visitation will be held from 6:00pm-8:00pm on Friday, October 16, 2026 at New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church. Services will be held 11:00am on Saturday October 17, 2026 at New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church. Burial will be held at Galilee Cemetery. Funeral arrangements by Jones Funeral Home.

“Well done, thou good and faithful servant.”

Matthew 25:21 (KJV)
