Jackie Jonathan Richardson McCloud was born Saturday, December 31, 1949 in Sarasota, FL to Genetha Alveeda Richardson.
His educational journey began in Sarasota Public Schools. He graduated from Evander Childs High School; Bronx, NY, where he excelled in both academics and athletics, especially track and field. He went on to earn an associates degree in Paralegal Studies. He was a proud soldier of the Army: a Vietnam Veteran and a member of the Masonic Lodge.
Jackie McCloud was a Jack of ALL trades. He was a carpenter, a mechanic, a, plumber. You name it! If it was broken he could fix it or build a new one. He was a scholar, published poet and a storyteller. He always had a story to tell or a lesson to give.
Jackie was predeceased by his father, Russell McCloud; mother, Genetha A. Richardson; A. Richardson; and brother, James McCloud.
He is survived by his Uncle and Aunt, Willie and Beverly Bradley. his sister. Rosalind McCloud; brother, Michael McCloud; his daughters, Angenora McCloud, Nythia Scipio, Richanda (Travis) Fudge and Tyesha McCloud: grandsons, William Carter Sr.. Rashawn Scipio, Calvin Collins, Treyvon Fudge, Jamari Fudge, and Jacquez Buckholtz: granddaughters, Quantinisha McCloud, Saranda McCloud, Carthenia Collins, Charisse Collins, Alyssa Fudge, Jasmyn Fudge, and Cayla Vinson; and 10 great - grandchildren. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, good friends and, last but not least, his beloved Sarasota Community.
Visitation will be held from 9:00am-11:00am on Thursday March 27, 2025 at Jones Funeral Home. Services will be held 11:00am on Thursday, March 27, 2025 at Jones Funeral Home. Most importantly, Jackie McCloud loved the Lord. He would always say, "The lord knows my heart."
