With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Jerry Brown, affectionately known as “JB” and “Jet.” He was a beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, nephew, and friend, whose presence will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Jerry was born to the late Eddie and Mattie Brown of Sarasota. He is now reunited with his beloved son, Edward Lee Brown, his sister Brenda Brown, and his brother Gary Alfred Brown.
Jerry began his career as a truck driver for the Salvation Army. In 1980, he started working alongside his brother Eddie Brown, the owner of Brown Brothers Property Care. It was during this time that Jerry discovered his natural talent for the work. Recognizing his passion and skill, he decided to pursue his own path in entrepreneurship and founded Jerry’s Lawn and Tree Service. He has been proudly running the business ever since.
He leaves to cherish his memory his children: Takesha Brown, Jerry Brown Jr., Latoya Woodside (Derek), Sonya Underhill (Perry), Crystal Brown, Michael Bell, Lapar Conley, Jerica Conley, Tiffany Brown, Latavia Simmons (Dennis), Gary Gerald (Janae), Wendell Martin, Janice Jackson (Keinan), Jason Harrell, Jasmine Burse, Preston Dapaah, and Priscilla Dapaah.
He also leaves to cherish his memory a host of grandchildren: Kevin, Daishua, Brittany, Jason Jr., Andrew Jr., Tamara, Lexis, Darion, JaDarian, Crystal, Kimora, Jerry III, Jeremy, Sarai, Jahmir, King, David, Jayden, Lexus, Karl, Kartiara, Amariah, Maleeq, Emarius, Ky' Zerria, Taraji, Rakeese, Paris, Katelynn, Jermal, Justin, Allora, Jasaj, Ja'siyah, Faith, Cameron, Julius, Jaheim, Jayla, Dontray, Jayla, and Terrialle.
He is also survived by his great-grandchildren:Dalinda, Naomi, Andrew Nelson Jr., Josiah, Blessyn, Zaveah, Lily, Jamir, Amir, Tyreke, Janae, Messiah, and Samuel.
He is also survived by his sisters: Shirley Glenn, Rosemary Brown, Celeste Evans, and his brother, Eddie Brown( Bonnie).
Nephews: Dwight Gordon (like a son held a special place in his heart) Melvin Burston and Joe Evans
He is also survived by his nieces: Adjuwa Gordon, Shanavel, and Shawnbria.
He is also survived by his aunts: Jean Watkins, Ruthie Brown, Collette Hill, and Irma Dorsey, along with a host of cousins and friends.

Visitation will be held from 6:00pm-8:00pm on Fri., May 16, 2025 at World Hope Christian Center. Services will be held 11:00am on Sat., May 17, 2025 at Happy Gospel Church. Burial will be held at Galilee Cemetery. Funeral arrangements by Jones Funeral Home.
